These people are insane. I'm truly saddened to know that some of them claim to vote.

"she couldn't survive a man with a gun" Montana wolf hunt start today: LA Times:
Edited on Sun Oct-25-09 12:45 PM by amborin
Wolf 527 was a survivor. She lived through a rival pack's crippling 12-day siege of her den. When another pair of wolves laid down stakes in her territory, she killed the mother and picked off the pups while the invader's mate howled nearby in frustration and fury.
snip
As the alpha female of the Cottonwood Creek pack, she also was equipped with a radio collar so wildlife biologists could track her movements, making her one of Yellowstone National Park's best-known wolves.
Then she ventured outside the park boundaries.
Wolf 527 was killed Oct. 3 by a hunter on Buffalo Plateau north of Yellowstone, less than three weeks into Montana's backcountry elk season.
snip
Her strategies were just unbelievable. She knew how to survive anything, but she didn't know how to survive a man with a gun."
Park officials believe four of the Cottonwood pack's 10 wolves -- including 527's mate, the alpha male, and her daughter -- died during those first weeks, in effect ending research into one of the park's most important study groups.
snip
Conservationists fear that allowing the wolves to be targeted just four months after they were removed from the endangered species list could damage the recovery process. They have argued for delaying a hunt until at least 2,000 wolves have gained a foothold in the region....."

1. ****ing asshole ranchers.
Egomaniacs who can't stand losing a few sheep a year to the wolves even though it's a completely insignificant number, but it's an affront to their supremacy over nature so they've got to go and try to exterminate the wolves again. I wish I were in Wyoming--I'd be tempted to take my rifle out and go hunting wolf hunters.

2. Very sad. Is there really that much of an economic loss from wolves that
hunting season is necessary? I doubt it.

5. Not on your life.
The number of livestock taken by wolves is extremely low, so much so that the government could pay full market value for anything killed by a wolf and it would still be a miniscule cost to the wolf program. But a lot of the ranchers just can't stand the idea of not having total control, so therefore the wolves need to die. They issued enough hunting permits this year in the western states, particularly Wyoming, to basically exterminate the wolf population all over again.

8. Any excuse to shoot them, I guess. I have no doubt there are some
sicko hunters who are just lining up to get a chance to shoot a wolf. Can't eat 'em, just want them for a hide and bragging rights.

13. This piece is not against hunting wolves -- only delaying the hunt until there are more wolves.
If wolves flourish there, then some wolves will be hunted and killed.

I wanted to say that I'd like open season on some humans, which would actually help the planet, and the human species.
Except I can't. I can't condone killing humans that are in the way of a healthy planet and human culture.
Some days I wish I could, though.

There it is. Whole thread and it is full of stupid.
Wonder how the DUmmies would feel if it was their livestock being MURDERED by the wolves? Hmmmm quite the conundrum there. Wonder if they will figure it out.

I wonder what goes around in a Little Goon's brain that makes a wolf's life more noble and valuable than a sheep's?
Why aren't they crying for the sheep? Because the wolf kills for food? Because the sheep has a dollar value?
I get dizzy thinking about the inside of a Little Goon's head.

The spring winds blow softly as the child sleeps in his quiet domain. He dreams the dreams that children dream as he basks in the warmth, comfort, and security of his surroundings. Sadly, too soon the dreams will end. Outside a solitary masked figure lurks. He intends to enter into the comforting abode and capture the child. He intends to change dreams into terror. Murder is in the air. The tragedy happens quickly. The figure savagely grabs the peaceful child and drags him from the warm and tender surroundings. The once content child is instantly filled with pain and terror. He attempts to scream but the scream is quickly muted by violent death. The masked figure coldly discards the lifeless body of the innocent child and begins to search for the next victim....
Change "child" to "unborn child" or "fetus".
Change "masked figure" to "doctor".
Change "murder" to "abortion".
It really is amazing that changing those few words can change so many opinions because it really does not change the meaning of the story. Or the end result of one being ending the life of another being.
Of course killing an unborn baby is fine with DUmmies. Killing wolves=evil.

As always, using the word "planet" when not speaking astronomically, or in reference to Superman's hometown newspaper, qualifies one as a moonbat lunatic.

Then you won`t mind if I just happen to take a months worth of money from you however you get it?
Stupid and idiotic, want to go live with the wolves and nature then do it because if you live in any kind of urban setting you have taken their natural habitat.
Got is fool...you have done more to disrupt nature then any rancher has.
Stupid motherfu...ers. :banghead:

Sounds like killing this wolf will actually have a positive effect on population numbers.

No...not really...we just want to do some selective culling...to improve the species.

So the female wolf killed another female and al her pups and the DUmmies think THOSE wolf killings were fine? Over mere territorialism?
I'm sure the DUmmies would plead, "it's nature way"?
This tells me that they consider man outside of nature but the double hypocrisy comes from the fact that they gave the female wolf as much if not more moral value than the life of a human but then they dismiss the moral implications iif a human female had killed an errant husband's lover and their children.
This shows their rage is based on nothing but myth and sentiment.

Sometimes DUmmieland is like watching a sequel to Hellraiser written by Ayn Rand and Beverly Cleary, only the Cenobites have all turned into zombies. Soundtrack by Rob Zombie and Barry Manilow.
