Gallup: Obama Suffers Worst 3rd Quarter Drop in Approval Since 1953
Posted by David Paul Kuhn | Email This | Permalink | Email Author
Barack Obama has suffered the worst third quarter decline in his public approval rating of any elected president in the post-World War II era.
Obama's average quarterly approval rating has slipped from 62 percent in the second quarter to 52.9 percent in the third quarter, according to Gallup polling. That 9 percentage point decline is twice the amount of any other post-war elected president. Dwight Eisenhower, Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan saw their standing decline 4 points between the two quarters. No other elected president has declined more than 4 points since 1953. The third quarter began July 20 and ended October 19.
Harry Truman, who of course inherited the presidency from FDR, dropped 13 points between his second and third quarters in 1945 and 1946.

1. The country is trending strongly leftward and Obama isn't keeping up.
He's not losing approval from the right. He's losing it from the left.
Wrong. He's losing from the right, center and the left. Can you say miserable failure?

4. Actually it's been said to be the opposite.
If what you say was true Prop 8 would never have passed in California of all places.
How many blacks and Latinos opposed Prop 8? Oh wait, that is not something you want to discuss is it?

26. On the issue of which Obama has staked his first term he is to the right of the American people.

And far to the right of most Democrats. What exactly has he "staked" his first term on? Being a failure? :bwah:

27. California (and the rest of the left coast)
Have been overrun for at least 30 years by people from the south and midwest who've lost jobs and have moved on to where they are a bit more plentiful. Fow every one of us midwestern transplants who have wholehearrtedly embraced the comparative liberality and tolerance of the west, there are plenty who've brought their narrow-minded cultural baggage with them.
You couldn't be more wrong DUmmie. Liberals have migrated to traditionally conservative areas after wreaking havoc in their own liberal areas. They just love to share the misery.

Even a dog won't shit in his own yard...but a DUmmie will...then move.

Ayup. Vermont is a perfect example. It used to be a solid Republican state until the liberal elites began to abandon their own liberal new england shitholes and moved here.

I know DUmmies are stupid, but stupid doesn't describe the sort of person who imagines California to be some haven for economic growth and job opportunities. When a state is actually printing IOUs to pay its obligations, we who reside on planet Earth refer to that as "failure."

And all indicators show that they are considerably more likely to get worse than better.
The only thing that I think could honestly save the California Budget would be to start from scratch.

As California goes, so goes the country. We are watching approximately the sixth largest economy in the world implode under its entitlement burdens and bloated bureaucracy. What should be a case-study we are following as a model.

Not as much stupid as lazy. Last time I peeked in, they were checking-in on a thread about not having health insurance, there were hundreds! Through no fault of their own, mind you :lmao:
Do they know that Obama isn't providing healthcare for FREE ? Shouldn't they be out looking for a job (or a second one if they have financial problems) rather than whine on a forum all day about how miserable they are by blaming everybody but themselves? :thatsright: :thatsright: :thatsright:
If they only knew, Obama doesn't give a sh*t about any of them, just himself.

DUmmies don't live on planet Earth, remember?

I just saw an FR thread from Rasmussen saying the Republicans are more favored on all the top 10 issues right now.

The funny thing is Obama is losing support from the left as they claim. But, he isn't losing support for not being left enough he is losing support by being as left as one can get. All his plans fall right in line with leftist values govt control of everything. The only thing that is missing is the "freebies" that they want so desperately. All though I believe the "freebies" are the ultimate goal of Obama but, first he has to destroy the economic power we once had then wait for us all to beg for help from big govt.
First goal is healthcare. Get the govt so involved that the insurance we have now and are content with will be so bad and so unfordable that more people will want the govt to just run it all and finance it.
Second goal is global warming errrr climate change legislation. During a deep recession make people have to shell out more money just to survive. Before long a majority of people will be desperate enough to want the govt to control the economy as well.
Obama has given us hope to have a little change left over when hes done with us.
-
The freebies never come.
Free healthcare in Cuba, a wet rag?
Have you seen the videos of Cuban hospitals at TheRealCuba website? Its horrific.

Not much different from the primitive hospital facilities in the U.K. and the other enlightened socialist countries of western Europe.

Well, if you go to that thread, you'll see the delusion runs very deep. I offer this as example:

18.You know what I keep coming back to: The only thing that this approval rating drop could be traced back to is the Professor Gates incident. The approval was in the low 60s before that. That's the only thing that triggered this slide I think. I bet if he hadn't fallen for Lynn Sweet's trap, there would have been no summer slide at all.
Can't be health care because most people support the public option and reform anyway.
OK, then, DUmmies, let's get nice and complacent. Nothing to see around you. You don't even need to come out next (or this if applicable) November, because everyone LOVES Obama and thinks just exactly like YOU! Look, there's a bong and a bag of Cheetos with your name on it!

Can we give em Fritos or Funyuns or something? I really like cheetos.

They don't seem to be enjoying their Free Pwnage.

Okay, so they see the polls that show 0bama tanking but just ignore the ones by the same polling companies that show no support for public heath care?
Cindie

It's weird, they don't mind talking about Obama tanking, so they accept those polls, even if they come up with some really goofy reasons for the downward trend. On the other hand, the public option and health care reform is their Holy Grail. So, there are no polls that show the vast majority of Americans not approving. In fact, all polls show just the opposite, and the DUmmies simply can't fathom why it hasn't happened yet.
It's almost like they refuse to face reality, preferring to purposefully lie to themselves. :uhsure:

An understatement of gargantuan proportions...these fools wouldn't recognize reality if it smacked them in the face with a tire iron. It has, in quite a few cases over there, and their delusion continues untouched.

What's even more entertaining is the mental gymnastics they habitually go through in order to incorporate said smacks with the tire iron into the storyline of their collective delusion of adequacy.
