White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel Sunday made one of the most absurd comments to date about the Administration's fight with the Fox News Channel.
In his "State of the Union" interview with CNN's John King, Emanuel said, "It's not a news organization so much as it has a perspective."
Maybe more importantly, Emanuel told King that the White House doesn't want other news outlets to emulate Fox because the cabler isn't offering "both sides' sense of a valued opinion"
RAHM EMANUEL, WHITE HOUSE CHIEF OF STAFF: No, it's not so much a conflict with Fox News. But, unlike I suppose the way to look at it, and the way we, the President looks at it, we look at it is it's not a news organization so much as it has a perspective. And that's a different take. And more importantly is not have the CNN's and the others in the world basically be led and following Fox as if that what they're trying to do is a legitimate news organization in the sense of both sides' sense of a valued opinion.
So, any media outlet that has a perspective isn't a news organization?
Using that guideline, doesn't it rule EVERY entity that offers opinion and commentary -- which is virtually every media group in America -- out as a news organization?
Yet, maybe most important was Emanuel's last line concerning the White House discouraging "the CNN's and the others in the world" from being "led and following Fox as if that what they're trying to do is a legitimate news organization in the sense of both sides' sense of a valued opinion."

Translation: The White House will now decide who is a news organization and shut down all who don't tow the line.
Preliminary statements before a move to censor free speech.
-
As if we needed any further proof that the major news outlets are taking their marching orders from the WH Chief of Staff...he goes on tv and pretty much confirms it with this BS.
-
Just because nobody watches CNN doesn't mean they're not one-sided. Mark Sanchez, Joy Behar, and Anderson Cooper? Give me a ****in' break.
-
"It's not a news organization so much as it has the wrong perspective."
Fixed...
-
And more importantly is not have the CNN's and the others in the world basically be led and following Fox as if that what they're trying to do is a legitimate news organization in the sense of both sides' sense of a valued opinion.
That sounds like a warning to CNN and the other "news" organizations. God, these people scare me.

You report what we want, the way we want it or you will be shut out.
The White House doesn`t care about ratings but is playing to the overblown egos of the talking heads on the liberal networks

I hate Rahm even more than I hate Obama. Obama is an egomaniacal jagoff, but Rahm is just plain Evil.

Ditto.

Emanuel said, "It's not a news organization so much as it has a perspective."
And Zero is not a president so much as he is a community organizer....
President, community organizer, socialist, communist, whatever.
Zero is still a dipshit, and so is his lapdog Rahm.... :loser:
To the both of them, this one's for you.... :bird:

everyone has a perspective.
Do you not think that Chrissy Mathews, Uberdork, Madnow and Shultzee have a perspective?
I can guarantee you that there is more ideological diversity at FNC than at any of the so-called "news" operations.
Any organization that didn't cover the ACORN thing is not a news organization, thats a truth.

Fox News is not right wing as people think it is. Sheperd Smith is a liberal and Greta van Susteran is a democrat. And O'Reilly is an independent who leans to the right. Glenn Beck is much more libertarian than he is conservative. Neil Cavuto seems conservative when it comes to business politics but moderate conservative when it comes to regular politics. Chris Wallace is a beltway conservative. Geraldo Rivera is a race bating pro-litigation liberal RINO. So the only hard nosed conservative you have on there is really Hannity and Huckabee.
-
Sounds like Rahm is the puppet master.

I do not conisder Hannity and Huckabee to be all that conservative, they are Republicans before they are conservatives.

Welcome to CC. Just remember your place Newbie. :p

I do not conisder Hannity and Huckabee to be all that conservative, they are Republicans before they are conservatives.
Well Hannity is a strict Reagan conservative. And people forget Reagan's 11th commandment--never attack a fellow Republican.
That's why you never see him go after fellow conservatives.
I also am a believer to Reagan's 11th commandment to a certain extent. With the exception to people like the Maine twin senators, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins are such RINOS, that if I lived in that state, I would rather vote independent or Democrat just to get rid of them, but other than that I would never vote democrat or independent. I am a good party soldier Republican.

RWCK: You need to take a class in public speaking. You speak like 0bama when he's without his teleprompter. Five "uhhhs" (maybe more, I lost count) in the first 40 secs.
-
I am a conservative. I am NOT a Republican.

Rahm joins Obama and they sing that old rock classic.....
"Yes, I'm the great pretender. Pretending that you're still around. My need is such, I pretend to much.........
-
I hate Rahm even more than I hate Obama. Obama is an egomaniacal jagoff, but Rahm is just plain Evil.
yes.
-
This working as well for the administration as the boycott of Glenn Beck did. Fox's ratings are up much more than the subservient networks.
-
I have no idea what message this idiot is trying to convey. :mental:
Hi,
I hear two messages.
1. Fox is getting under their skin and causing them problems.
2. This is a warning, don't any of you other networks even think about dealing with the truth.....
regards,

I think the fact they are making so much noise against Fox is going to hurt them in the long run.
It makes them look like they are both afraid and that they have stuff to hide.....both of which are bad components for a campaign than ran on "transparency".
I think it's going to blow up in their faces.
It's human nature to do something when they've been told not to do it.
And to question...."why not?"
How many of us were told...."alcohol (cigarettes, sex, pot, etc) is bad for you ...don't try it" ?
How many of us listened?
-
I never tried pot, nor any other illegal drugs. :innocent:

When you start hearing Liberals calling the White house "whiners," things are getting fun. Heard that mid-week.
-
This is almost too obvious. They've got to know that attacking Fox News will rally their kook base. It doesn't really matter if it further rallys conservatives, they already know conservatives will oppose them, so that's moot. This has to be in order to get the whacko's support which has been falling away since Dear Leader won't come out and admit he wants a USSR style medical system.

I don't think the number of Fox viewers can only be attributed to conservatives, there are lots of them that are moderates. Check out some polls done about the cable news, Fox is considered to be more unbiased than the others.
-
Rahm,
do us all a favor and go sleep with the fishes.

Oh no, that was never in dispute. It just seems I'm seeing this "Dear Leader is picking a fight with Fox" line, and I've got to wonder why. Seems to me the obvious choice for Dear Leader wanting this image being portrayed is that the kooks love that type of thing, and they most certainly view FN as 100% conservative viewers. If he can make the current healthcare debate "Dear Leader vs. Fox News," then maybe some of them will stop being so vocally against anything other than Marxist medicine. Being libs, they're pretty easy to manipulate with something as simple as an "us vs. them" argument.

And that is why they are known a sheep. I see what you were saying.

Essentially, Rahm Emanuel is what the commies claimed that Karl Rove was. Only 10 times worse.

Yep, because unlike Rove, Rahm is STUPID....
The "master" can't have a lackey that is more intelligence if he wishes to remain the "master"....
