27 this morning, high of 47, SNOW forecast for tonight. It won't stick, but it'll sure make travelling home tonight and to work tomorrow an adventure.
Wake up, drive to work, work, drive home, go to bed. Repeat.
No change in the above pattern for another 3-4 weeks.

Yup--pulled the leftover beef stew from the freezer. I hope it's thawed enough to have some tonight, but if it isn't I can make a pot pie and salad.

It was so warm and humid here my sidewalk was sweating last night. Cool front blowing through, dropped 6 degrees on my commute. Looks to shape up to be a nice weekend. No rain for a week. Woot!

It's been raining this time since around 11 last night. Looking on the weather map to the west is solid yellow.... :(
Friends are leaving tomorrow to drive to Port Canaveral for a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise. The other half can't go, but I could go and room with one of the daughters (she's 18)....interior cabin...$299. I'm not going mainly because I don't want to ride in a Suburban for 12+ hrs(each way) with 5 other people and I feel guilty leaving the other half in the cold rain while I float around the ocean in 90-degree sun. I need my head examined... :mental:

I twisted my ankle last night, and now it is swollen and doesn't want to support me very long, so I dug out some old crutches. I feel like a gimp :bawl: I'm just about positive that it isn't broken because I can walk on it, just not vvery comfortably, so for the time being I'm wrapping it, icing it, and try to stay off of it as much as possible. I figure that if it doesn't improve by early next week I can make a doctor's appointment to have it looked at.
I've sprained my ankle before, and I suspect that is all it is now. A fairly mild sprain.

I feel like a gimp :bawl: I'm just about positive that it isn't broken because I can walk on it, just not vvery comfortably, so for the time being I'm wrapping it, icing it, and try to stay off of it as much as possible. I figure that if it doesn't improve by early next week I can make a doctor's appointment to have it looked at.
I've sprained my ankle before, and I suspect that is all it is now. A fairly mild sprain.
Oh that stinks. Hopefully it is your left, and you have an auto transmission. If it makes you feel any better, my coworker ripped his achilles tendon on his right foot, a week before his first baby was born, and that was over a month ago. He is still on crutches. At least you didn't do that? (Going for the things could be worse approach today.) You may want to try an Aleve or something for inflammation.

Nope, it is the right and I have a manual transmission. However, my dad is being an absolute sweetheart and said that he would drive me to work, even though it is a bit out of his way.
I'm so glad that I filed away my finished files yesterday before I left!

No, my new dog took off out the front when I got home, and she doesn't come when called yet, so I took off after her in my work shoes, which have a bit of a heel. Next thing I know, my right foot comes down wrong and my ankle bent too far. Thankfully, the Australian Shepherd herded the new dog home.
This is two dog related injuries so far in my lifetime, not looking so good here :p

Dog-related injuries stink, because they don't know that THEY did something wrong to cause you injury. My ACD just looks at me with those sad eyes, wagging his tail, while I curse to high heaven.

Today, I get to have a two hour MRI. I hope that they break it up into two one hour sessions. Tomorrow is the continuation, with another two hour MRI. :(
CR, back in 97, I went hunting with a friend. While walking out to the hunting stand, through a frozen, chisel-plowed field, I sprained my ankle. I tightened up my boot and carried on with the hunting expedition. I DID get my deer and opted out for the next day of hunting. While my ankle hurt for weeks, I never went to the Dr. to get it checked out. To this day it bothers me and has caused some severe problems with my walking. Recently, I saw an orthopaedic surgeon about it. He's talking reconstructive surgery on my foot/ ankle. Don't let this go. It CAN become problematic.

Agreed! An ankle is an area that never truly gets the rest like other places and probably needs the extra support when injured for it to heal properly. A lady in my gym put it off too and delayed her returning to normal activity for months because she waited versus weeks if she had went right away and did her 4-6 weeks while it was healing with support.

My brother screwed up his ankle too by walking on it when it was more injured than the doctor thought. It took him at least 2 surgeries to repair it in the end.
I'm keeping my weight off of it with crutches, and I plan to go to the doctor early next week if it doesn't start to improve, or if it gets worse.

Well.......... the MRI didn't go at all. :( They got me into the machine and my claustrophobia kicked in. I didn't have any meds with me, so we rescheduled. They also advised that I might need a chauffeur due to being under the influence. I have a ride scheduled for tomorrow and will need to obtain one for Monday.

I have enough meds to do that, but I don't want to overdose. They DO have that option at $75 ea. I might consider that if the Docs don't call me back soon enough today.

My wife thought the same thing until she had to have one done this summer, for something the ophthalmologist saw behind her eye. She went through it no problem.

I've had MRIs in the past and never experienced such an attack. At most, there was some mild anxiety. I guess this one was because the machine is really tight and not a lot of air flowing through it.

I've only had one and it was on my head for migraines.
Even though I am claustrophobic, I thought I would be ok because they said there was a window in it for me to see the ceiling and light.
They packed foam rubber around my head and laid a lead cover over my body from neck to knees.
I wasn't even half way in before I was asking to get me out of it....dumb ass guy kept telling me I would be ok....when I started screaming to get me out...he finally reversed it.
They shot me up with something and sent me back in....I didn't care about anything... :-)....then he kept saying ..."Deb...answer me...are you ok?"......uh-huhhhhhhhh :yawn:
I don't think they realized I drove myself there and back home..... :uhsure:
I could live the rest of my life and never miss having another one of those things.....

If they placed a lead cover over you, that must have been a CAT scan. MRIs use magnetism to obtain a picture.

It banged alot.....I thought it was a MRI...
If it wasn't lead...it was sure heavy...and they strapped me down under it.
Now that I think about it....it was a medical torture chamber... :o
