Leaks in the Cam Sync
I was leaking oil. So I took the Ex to the local Mechanic. He said that the O ring in the Cam Sync was leaking and that it would cost a little over 250 dollars to fix. I asked him if I could put it off for a little while cause I was broke and he told me I could put it off indefinately...just keep checking the oil and keep it filled. So I did this for a little over a month. Every week I would check the oil and it would be down about a quart, which I would then add. Lately it seems that the leak has stopped...my oil does not get low...
any insights on this? how difficult is it to replace the seal on the cam sync?
any comments would be very appreciated!
Well, here it is, more than three weeks later, and the primitive doesn't yet have anything about which to be appreciative, because the automotive primitives haven't been to this bonfire.

That is one quart of oil put directly into the environment. Hell, the DUmbass hypocrite might as well just pour that quart of oil out on the ground every week.

I have no clue what that is supposed to be unless they mean cam shaft or sealon an OHC engine.
Even then impossible for anyone to answer without details as to what the car is for make, model, year and engine.

This guy can help.

I'll bet the primitive also has problems with the headlight fluid pump.

It cannot be replaced. You must keep the one you have.
Seals are protected marine mammals, and any effort to replace one is a direct assault on Mother Gaia.

No wonder she's the Ex, if you had to take her to the mechanic to be worked on. :innocent:

Wonder if he spent more than $250 in oil, that he threw away?

Here's a novel idea for Steerpike:
LEARN HOW TO DO IT YOURSELF, DUMBASS!!!!

If it is what I think it is......about 30 minutes to change the o-ring. Cam phaser for variable cam timing.
I would charge the DUmmie 600 bucks to change the o-ring. :evillaugh: j/k
