To Save Money, Irish School Asks Kids to Bring Their Own Toilet Paper
A primary school in Ireland is asking parents to pack something extra in their children's school back packs — a roll of toilet paper.
A sign of the tough economic times, the school in the southern county of Cork is trying to cut back on its spending and save a little, according to Reuters.
"The letter was sent out just as a way of balancing books here in the school and not intended as a demand," Reuters quoted Catherine O'Neill, principal at St. John's Girls National School.
O'Neill said parents are responding well to the school's request.
"I've done a quick tour of the classrooms this morning and I'd say at least half the pupils have brought them (toilet rolls) in," she told an Irish news agency.

2. Our school requests that the kids bring kleenex
"One box of tissue" is actually on the school supply list for the beginning of the year. And parents get requests for additional boxes throughout the year. I would send TP if the school asked for it.

4. Yeah, our school does that too.
I just learned from my daughter in high school, that they were told in Chemistry that they have 3 options for notes - print them out at home (he has a web site), copy them word for word down in class, or pay $.25 per sheet and he'll provide you with a photocopy. The school is not restricting the teachers on their numbers of copies, but is having the teachers provide their own paper FOR those copies.
Both kids had to supply 2 boxes of kleenex, 1 squirt bottle of soap and one of hand sanitizer, 4 tennis balls (for the chair legs), and a box of snacks each marking period (enough to feed 36 kids). Those were above and beyond the regular supplies.

3. Do they have to bring little plastic shovels too?

I saw this on Drudge.
Just a thought--a lot of the primitives don't bother with TP anyway, so what are they bitching about?

Actually, the primitives have an abnormal obsession with, a fetish about, toilet paper.
When the primitives talk about surviving some sort of natural or political disaster, toilet paper's always on the top of their list of things to hoard.
And primitives are notorious for spending their welfare money--one can see in Wal-Mart--on the quadruple-ply triple-extra-soft finely-knitted perfumed lotioned toilet paper that costs about four times as much, for a fourth of the paper.
Primitives have a fetish about it. Really.

A lot of the male primitives seem to regard the rectum as a sexual organ, so that's not surprising.

The teachers here control the TP....can't put in the restrooms...students either steal it or plug the toilets with it.
Hey if you give them a free breakfast, a free lunch and a free after school snack along with all free school supplies, you should just be glad that they'e still willing to wipe their own butts.

When I saw the title of the thread, I thought it was going to be about the New York Times
