Damm!

"Make no mistake. We're now in the middle of a bloodless coup – the takeover of an entire nation by the hate-America crowd – a cold-blooded gang that despises America's prosperity, our standing in the world, our trust in God and our generosity and goodness," says political activist Floyd Brown in a post on the new Impeach Obama Campaign website.

I cannot disprove this stuff - help me out here, is this just "The sky is falling" scare tactics rhetoric?
This is scary shit man....We are going to lose our nation!
What the frack will our military do?
-
Interesting article.
What exactly is your question concerning the military?
-
Agreed zfk.

What exactly is your question concerning the military?
Well, I know members of the Military take an oath to protect the nation from enemies foreign and at home and, to uphold the Constitution. 0bama is their Commander in Chief. So, if we find that 0bama *IS* violating Constitutional Law or has committed impeachable offenses or even tries to take complete dictatorial control of the nation, will the Military step in if Congress does not remove him forcibly? I think the should, in fact HOPE they do!
-
You'd have to define who "the military" is. Upper echelons, or Petty Officer's, Grunts, Sargeants, ......... The military's actions typically require leadership of some kind. That's going to be a tough one to call.
zfk55
Well then, that may be part of the problem - where the loyalties of the upper echelons fall. Seriously, I am worried that we will be living through the fall of America.

Having spoken to a large numbers of the Montana National Guard ( in the line of our business), to a man and woman they responded the same. None would attack family friends or neighbors. Regular Army is a mixed bag. Young hotshots, ghetto dwellers who joined because there were few options etc. will be another story.
My neighbor told me "he was prepared"........... and I said, "Yeah.... until the first Bradley rolls down the county road"
You can only assume that a faction of the armed forces might disobey the Constitution. What they will, in fact, do collectively might depend on their immediate superiors.

In the run-up to the BIG Y2K thing, Comrade Billy Jeff commissioned a study amongst the military, centered around the question, "would you follow an order from the CinC to implement martial law". (MARSHALL LAW, for the lurking DUmmies) The results scared the crap out of him, and he put the brakes on a lot of the hype for mass hysteria that may or may not have been coming out of his administration. The survey found that only about 25% of all military officers would obey a martial law order, with the NCOs support for such an order at half of that. When the numbers were broken down by MOS, it only got worse: only 15% of officers in a combat arms MOS would obey a martial law order, and again, about half of that figure for combat arms NCOs.
No, the military's response to a federal order violating Posse Commitatus doesn't worry me. The men and women I know in each of those branches take their oath to THE CONSTITUTION seriously. The alphabet soup of federal police agencies on the other hand - each with their own "special forces" unit of some kind - now that makes me nervous.

***Nothing I am about to post is in any way myself advocating an overthrow of the President or US Government***
The problem with the military taking action is that there is no precedent, or any real guidelines to how it would act. Our Constitution says nothing about holding a coup against our own Government, and how things should be handled.
At the same time, from my perspective at least there doesn't seem to be a strong enough central authority in our Military to do this. It would have to come down from SecDef, JCS, or someone on equivalent level, and I honestly don't see that happening. We aren't going to get some Brigadier or Major General walk up to the White House and say GTFO. They just won't have the authority or backing to do so. And don't even begin to entertain the idea of someone in the enlisted side trying it.
So for it to be done, it would have to be due to the actions of something so appaulling that there could be no question about it. I just don't see anything like that happening during this Presidency.

Y'all need to be very careful of what you might be publishing here. Y'all also need to refer to my statements inj THIS thread. The Constitution may be the guideline to our freedoms but Title 18 specifies that it is a crime to overthrow the government or even to advocate overthrowing the Government.

That said, discuss away, just keep Title 18 in mind. This subject needs to be tread on with much discretion.
All in all, I have my concerns about this administration, the military and the possible imposition of martial law.

There's some flat out fu*king crazy talk going on in here by the noobs. :mental:

Thanks for the warm welcome!
:mental: notwithstanding I was curious as to which direction this thread was taking. Nothing more, nothing less.

I was being sarcastic should have made myself more clear

Leftist inflitraitors?
Oh pooh! If I find a few minutes in my workday (that should disqualify me as a leftist) I will certainly properly introduce myself, as for now...I posted a year or so ago on the National Forum. Kestrel I believe was the owner/moderator. I recognize a few names on this discussion forum as having been regulars on that site. Although I didn't interact over there as much as I wanted I admit to being a serial lurker on many sites...I love to read. End of story.

Ah, the Smith Act. Remind me about who passed that again?

Ah, the Smith Act. Remind me about who passed that again?
Well, as far as I can find, it was passed int law in 1940. That would make it an FDR thing, another Democrat/ Socialist. ::)

Bloody coup...bloodless coup...either way any talk or speculation about it by people who consider themselves Conservatives is just silly and makes them sound just as retarded as the idiots on the left that we point and laugh at for saying the exact same thing.

Wholeheartedly agree.
Whatever the differences we have with the socialist set, splitting the country apart is not an option.
-
Ah, World Nut Daily and their opinion of, "In order to save America, we had to destroy it?"
Thanks, I'll pass. There are other ways to save the Republic.
