For two weeks, it has been the story without an end. Is East Cleveland mayor Eric Brewer a cross dresser? Was it a malicious hoax done by a look-alike to tarnish Brewer's image? Or was it the mother of Photoshop jobs? Now, almost two weeks after the story first hit the airways, the answer has been revealed.

Yes, the photos are real. After the story garnered national attention on both news and late night comedy-talk shows, Brewer consented to an interview on the TV show Inside Edition. During the course of the interview, Brewer admitted that the photos were indeed of him.

Notice how his political affiliation is mentioned in the article . . .

. . . Can't find it?

He's got to be a Dem, else an (R) would have been in every paragraph.  ('Course, this is near Cleveland, who elected Dennis Kucinich.)

None of the cross dressing articles I read mentioned his affiliation. I finally found a mention of it in the Wiki article about the town itself.

Eric J. Brewer is East Cleveland's current mayor and was sworn in on January 1, 2006. Brewer earned 55% of the vote in a four-person October 2005 primary, defeating the acting mayor, city council president and one additional candidate. The acting mayor at the time had previously served as council president. She replaced a former incumbent mayor who had been convicted for theft and corruption. Brewer defeated his Republican opponent in the November 2005 general election with an 85 percent margin.
