the Bar Code. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing. It certainly has made life easier in some instances.

If the bar code is all that hot, why are there so many instances of carpal tunnel syndrome?
Used to be a time when cashiers in stores would have to ring up each item on the grocery conveyor. Then bar codes came along, nullifying that. Somehow, that didn't stop CTS.
There's something irritating about hearing those electronic blips every time an item is scanned. Ever hang out at a Wal-Mart by the checkout lines? :rotf: You'll go nuts inside 15 minutes, guaranteed. :lmao:

Trivia question: what was the first item sold in a grocery store that had a bar code??
The laser scanners have sped up the process of checking out from a grocery store, that is until someone brings up an item that has been improperly entered into the computer or doesn't have a UPC tag/ label. Then there's the colored bar code labels that the scanners don't like.
