WASHINGTON – There was no trip to New York and no fancy outing as the Obamas celebrated their first wedding anniversary since they moved to the White House.
Instead they kept it simple, with a dinner out Saturday night at an elegant, American-fare restaurant near Georgetown. The evening was balmy and the moon almost full.
President Barack Obama stayed in all day before taking a motorcade with Michelle Obama to the Blue Duck Tavern to mark their 17th wedding anniversary.

No pork for them...I wonder why???

I cannot describe how little I care about what a president does on his anniversary.

Hey, at least it didn't cost the American taxpayers millions of dollars like their little jaunt to NYC did a couple of months ago.

Agreed on that one! Presidents should get billed for the fuel when they go on a personal trip. How much gas do you think a 747 uses?

Not to mention the other diners in that restaurant who were inconvenienced by the royal couple as Michele swilled her way through the evening.
I'll be damned if I go out to dinner somewhere and have to contend with the Secret Service as they do their job.
I didn't vote for the son of the bitch for president, so why should I have to eat in the same building he's in?
That is all.

So, after 8 months of $100 a pound steak they decide to go slumming. Staying in touch with the common people I guess, huh.
