It's ironic . . .
I applied for an AmeriCorp Vista volunteer position a couple of nights ago. I haven't been able to find work so I figured that I needed to go back to school and "freshen up" my degree with some additional training. I knew that Americorp paid a small living stipend and gave an education award of several thousand dollars at the end of the the term of service. I was also happy to see that they provided health insurance, something I desperately need with the osteoarthritus that I have that requires cortisone shots in my knees every six months. But low and behold, the insurance that they provide does not cover pre-existing conditions. A government funded health insurance program that does not cover pre-existing conditions, how ironic is that?
:lmao:

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! :rotf:
Nice fine!! Need a linky though.

Just how expensive are cortisone shots?
I have a feeling the out-of-pocket expense might be pretty trivial, but the primitive's looking for a free ride.
This is why I don't consider working in the Peace Corps or Vista to be authentic "volunteer" work; they're paid and benefited for what they do, plus they get all of these insides to federal jobs.
Honest vounteer work demands sacrifice, not remuneration.

2. That is why universal health care is needed.
Not universal insurance.
Too bad that you're getting neither. No free pony for you.

Oh, the irony is too much!

I'm not sure, but I don't think you can just walk into a doctor's office and get them. My aunt has them a couple times a year on one of her knees, but she's been doing that for a few years. It beats surgery.

Can't cut it in the private sector? Go work for the gubb'ment!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I had to get them in my jaw($45) and my insurance covered it.
(And no, not because I talk too much. :uhsure:)

I could say something else, but 1--you'd beat the crap out of me, 2--this thread would go straight to the short bus.
But I like the way you think.
