I got to enlighten some pharmacy clerks about "Socialized" medicine today
Went to fill some prescriptions, and overheard the pharmacist say "they're socialized medicine ...something something" I asked what was socialized, and he said, health care in England and Canada. I said, hey, I'm from Canada, and it is NOT socialized medicine there, and they said, well what is it, And I said it was socialized INSURANCE, and went on to explain how the Doctors, clinics and hospitals were private, and that only the insurance part was government Universal.

I continued to tell them all about it, and how it's free, paid for via taxes, and all the good stuff, and they asked why then do the insurance companies and GOP not want it here, and I said, well, because they would go out of business except for selling extras like dental and vision, and that we would be much better off without them. "So," one gal said.... "it's all lies?" And I said, you bet! They are after the mega profits and easy money.

No pre existing conditions, coverage from cradle to grave, no worse waits than now,and how easy Universal systems work... and they all seemed a bit more enlightened when I left.
  :rotf:

...and realizing how progressive and cool I was they all lifted me up on their shoulders and carried me through the Walgreens cheering me and then Natalie Portman jumped out of the bushes and gave me a hoover and we all rode off on unicorns to get ice cream and it was the best day ever. The end.

2. Good for you!
Now, if we could only arrange for you to go into every pharmacy in the country, and tell it like you did today!

*sigh*

Well done!

6. Been thinking of doing my own one man crusade...
Set a booth up on Main street with a sign that says " Get your Facts here on Universal Health care" or something like that...They almost didn't believe me at the Walgreens... the one gal said it was almost unbelievable...And when you have lived in the forest, the meadow looks strange...
Well there was SOME truth in his post...

I have never seen anyone staffing a pharmacy who was uneducated to the point where anyone in the public would have to "teach" them about their profession.
It is not a job for the stupid.

So this idiot overheard a small piece of someone else's conversation and decided it not only grasped the overall tone, but was more informed about American health insurance than people who work in the system every day. "Socialized medicine" is one of those catchall phrases that means THE GOVERNMENT CONTROLS THE PEOPLE'S HEALTH CARE. It doesn't matter whether the doctors, hospitals, massage parlors, spiritual mediums, etc. are private enterprises, the government would STILL be in control of what kind of treatment a person can get. In England that treatment stops at about $45,000 a year if one is seriously ill. But anyway, she starts ranting and spewing like the pissed off crazy loon she is while everyone around her just stares in stunned silence at her rudeness and stupidity while the poor clerk tries to say something...ANYTHING...to get this ranting jerk to just get the hell out so everyone can get on with their day.

 :whatever:

A really lame bouncy. The funny thing is nothing coming from the dems is even close to what they have in Canada or other countries. What they are working on is regulating insurance companies even more and forcing everyone to buy policies. So why are they wasting their time building up socialized medicine anyway?

5. You'd be amazed how many people who work in the system

don't understand the lies.

Yep you are so much smarter than any doctor, nurse, pharmacist or anyone in the medical field.

You know what DUmmies I wouldn't have a problem with socialized medicine if I could trust the govt not to tax us to death and actually treat us when we get sick since we would be forced to pay for it anyway. But, I don't trust them on either count. The govt couldn't even estimate the amount needed for that cash for clunkers program what makes you think they can get the data right on health care? Because once everyone in the country goes to see a doctor for every hangnail the budget will busted in a matter of a few days.

That one jumped out at me, too, BEG.  "It's all free, paid for via taxes."

Ahh. but being a conservative you're overlooking one key point.  If you're a leftie, you don't work or you sell pottery on the street corner under the table.  No declared income = No taxes,   No Taxes = everything's free.  :banghead:

Did you hear that the IMF told the UK to make people pay for healthcare to get a handle on their debt crisis?

and then the sky opened a bright light came shining down upon her, the sound of harps, angels singing...it was beautiful...until she awoke and realized she still had to mop aisle 3.

That part made me spit coffee into my laptop. How does paid for via taxes make it free?

DUmmies don't have jobs, so they don't pay taxes, ergo it's free.
