Oh my.
We all know who's going to show up at this bonfire.

My grocery store had a display of a chocolate flavored red wine.
It was called something like Choc au Vin or Vin au Choc. I couldn't decide if it was appalling or brilliant or perhaps brilliantly appalling. Then I thought maybe they should have it in the health food aisle as well.
Would you buy it, just for the experience?
Uh-huh, the first one up, the chocoholic warped primitive, who's "allergic" to things good for her, and not allergic to things bad for her; too bad the warped primitive wasn't allergic to pharmaceuticals meant for a patient in the hospital where she was a nurse:

1. I can't drink but it might be a good thing to put into a dessert
I have to admit that if I could drink, it sounds like something that would hang up on a tonsil and gag me.
However, if they went the dry route instead of the sweet one, I can see it as an addition to a mole.
Imagine it with a shot of Stinky's alcoholic whipped cream on top for a real taste sensation.

4. A parfait of jello shots drizzled with this wine topped with the alcohol cream.
I have seen a couple episodes of Bridezilla where I think this would be a perfect dessert at the rehearsal dinner.

2. I'd try it...
This joint makes a chocolate/orange wine that sounds more like a cordial to me About 30 bucks a bottle I'm not a big fan of Orange and chocolate as a combo so I won't be trying this.

This is just a Cab with Dutch Chocolate added. It's about 12 a bottle so it may have to be my first venture into this.

3. That's it! Chocovine.
That is exactly it. You first.
I once made a filet which had chocolate as the secret ingrediant in the sauce and I think it involved red wine as well, so maybe this would be a killer cooking combo.

5. I might try it
I've certainly eaten red wine and chocolate together.
I remember going to a restaurant and having a desert with a chocolate/red wine reduction sauce which was heavenly!

7. a winery in Astoria Oregon makes chocolate wine.
I've been on a tour there. I think they also make lemon meringue wine.

8. A local winery bottled a chocolate flavored port that my wife and I found very interesting. Nice desert wine, or more like a liqueur. I'd put it on par with amaretto but not so cloyingly sweet. We enjoyed it but a little goes a long way.
I dunno.
When franksolich drank, he used to prefer St-Louis Beaujolais, that bitter red wine that tastes like the blood of one's enemies.

Chocolate and wine? Ugh! As an underage consumer of alcohol, I would sometimes consume chocolate before going home, because it seemed to kill the smell better than gum or mints.

Let Greenbriars ole man try it out. He'll drink anything.

I'm sure she'll give him a reason, too . . .
