Toby Keith will perform at the Nobel Peace Prize concert taking place Dec. 11 in Oslo, Norway, organizers announced Wednesday (Sept. 30). Actor-rapper Will Smith and his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, are co-hosts of the event that will also feature performances by Wyclef Jean, Donna Summer, Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Amadou & Mariam, a musical duo from Mali. This year's winner of the Nobel Peace Prize will be announced on Oct. 9. The award ceremony is set for Dec. 10. The concert will mark Keith's second Oslo performance in less than a month. His schedule already included a Nov. 21 show in the city during his tour of Scotland, England, Ireland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway.

Huh? The same Toby Keith that did these songs? The first one is from his latest album and is kind of funny.

Huh? He gets a lot of respect from the military for doing his shows in Iraq and other places.

True. But playing at a concert sponsored by ilk that gave a coveted award to Al Gore AND Jimmy Carter just sounds odd. I would expect Bruce Springsteen or the Dixie Chicks or Dave Matthews. Not someone who loves his country like Toby Keith.

Whatever credibility that Alfred Nobel had (btw, he's the guy who invented dynamite), disappeared when those idjits in Stockholm gave the NPP to that ragheaded terrorist Yasir Arafat. Then they added insult to injury with al Gore, Jimmah, and the rest of the lefty loons.

I can't figure out why they would invite him, let alone why he'd accept. He has said that he is more independent than republican, but is a firm supporter of the military.

He very well could be, but I know he has consistently supported the troops, and supported President Bush's stance on the both wars. Maybe he's one of those rare intelligent Rats.
