Wow. Even Stephanopolis of the All Barak Channel (ABC) is asking the Imposter in Charge some hard questions.
Obama, Stephanopoulos Spar Over Definition of 'Tax'
In an interview airing Sunday, ABC News' George Stephanopoulos pressed the president on his plan to require people to purchase health insurance.
President Obama and ABC News' George Stephanopoulos got in a testy sparring match Sunday over whether the president's health care plan includes a tax increase, leading the host to look up the Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of taxes.
In the interview airing Sunday, Stephanopoulos pressed the president on his plan to require people to purchase health insurance.
"Under this mandate, the government is forcing people to spend money, fining you if you don't. How is that not a tax?" the host asked.
Obama responded: " No, but -- but, George, you -- you can't just make up that language and decide that that's called a tax increase."

Obama is Clinton Jr depends on how you define "is". :whatever:
-
I saw the clip, you could see barack wanting to just slap Stephie quite.
-
Holy crap.
Did Stapphlycocus just sink president Obama? This was supposed to be the weekend, last-ditch infomercial blitz as there was no appreciable bounce from the joint address. With this AND the president's stammering on ACORN L'il 'O came off looking pretty damn sad.
Someone forgot to send Stephie the script.

Wheels within wheels, my fuzzy friend. Steffie is a Clinton apparatchik.

I wanted to try and tie that in somehow but I don't wanted to sound all CT'ish.
Still, my bunny-sense is tingling: Could he be setting up Obama for HIllary's departure? I'm sure Obama has a pick in mind for NY in 2010. If he's politically discredited then that would ease Hillary's hinted run. From there she springboards to the 2012 or 2016 primary.

How did the President keep a straight face when he told Steffie that he had no idea that ACORN was getting federal tax dollars?

You mean how come his nose didn't grow to be 8 feet long?

He is a consummate liar. He believes that everyone will believe because he is The One.

That interview was sad, but Stef was actually good for a change.

Did you notice he asked Obama three time if he'd support stopping this, and Obama dodged the question every time?

Yeah I read the transcript. I had to read it again to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me.

I only read an excerpt or two, but I figured you probably had done at least that, too. Other people might not know, but Politico -and the bill itself says it's a tax as well:
In the most contentious exchange of President Barack Obama’s marathon of five Sunday shows, he said it is “not true†that a requirement for individuals to get health insurance under a key reform plan now being debated amounts to a tax increase.
But he could look it up — in the bill.
Page 29, sentence one of the bill introduced by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont) says: “The consequence for not maintaining insurance would be an excise tax.†.
And the rest of the bill is clear that the Finance Committee does, in fact, consider it a tax: “The excise tax would be assessed through the tax code and applied as an additional amount of Federal tax owed.â€
