So, Beck loses the majority of his advertisers, but Fox takes no action.

Heck, he even got a cover story from Time. What's the message here? This isn't any sort of "journalism," or even sound programming. He's got a few million viewers, but advertisers don't want to be associated with his hate-speech. Yet for some reason, Fox doesn't reprimand him in any way, it simply subsidized his show sans advertisers.

That, people, should tell you everything you need to know about Fox and its agenda.

11. How does one make a profit in TV without advertisers?

Explain, please. I don't get it...it costs money to produce and air the show. If no one is supporting it through advertising, how can it possibly make a profit?

The point being, again, that Fox is willing to LOSE MONEY on Beck if it helps their cause. It tells you everything you need to know about their agenda...they're just pumping up the hate speech.

13. Where did I say that he is losing ad revenue? I said he is losing advertisers. By the boatload. Nearly 40 last I heard. Now, I supposed it doesn't necessarily mean he is losing revenue, but it stands to reason that if he loses 40 major advertisers, the program would be losing ad revenue, too. He could have a brazillion viewers, but if no one is sponsoring his show it will NOT make money. That's how TV works.

18. Actually, I don't watch ANYTHING on Fox.

Nothing at all.

Yeah, right.  Sure.

Hmmm.  I am busy at 5:00 so I have Glenn set on the DVR.  I watched it this morning at 5:00 am instead.  Every 10 minutes, I fast forwarded through the commercials.  I know I did it, I was sitting right there.  I remember the DR mower/trimmer, and Goldline.  Didn't pay attention to the rest.

Popped over to the thread.  They are still convinced that the DU has the power to crush the Fox empire.

One has to remember Pedro Picasso is the poster child for television.

His eyeballs got permanently glued to the screen when he was still a little lad, growing up in some Levittown development down in Florida.

Everything, all, that Pedro Picasso knows, comes from television.

And it shows.

If Pedro Picasso doesn't watch Fox, franksolich doesn't piss.

Yeah, right.

Jimmy Jet And His TV Set
by Shel Silverstein
I'll tell you the story of Jimmy Jet --
And you know what I tell you is true.
He loved to watch his TV set
Almost as much as you.

He watched all day, he watched all night
Till he grew pale and lean,
From "The Early Show" to "The Late Late Show"
And all the shows between.

He watched till his eyes were frozen wide,
And his bottom grew into his chair.
And his chin turned into a tuning dial,
And antennae grew out of his hair.

And his brains turned into TV tubes,
And his face to a TV screen.
And two knobs saying "VERT." and "HORIZ."
Grew where his ears had been.

And he grew a plug that looked like a tail
So we plugged in little Jim.
And now instead of him watching TV
We all sit around and watch him.

Somehow, I thought this appropriate, given the Coach's description of Pedro.

Great find, Defiant, sir.

It's Pedro Picasso to a tee.

One wonders if Pedro Picasso wears eyeglasses or uses contact lenses; when I was a little lad myself, I once inquired of the parents why we didn't have a television.  We never did have a television, either before or after me.

I dunno the real reason, and it's far too late to find out now, but I was told that television ruined the eyes.

From looking at Pedro Picasso, it ruins the brain too.

Well....Al Franken and Air America robbed kids charities to spread their hate speech. Let me know when FOX sinks that low.

That's the first I've heard of Levittown used by someone who wasn't from the north east US.

Seems like Texas Toast is trying to start an urban legend hoping it catches hold and passes for what the Libtards call "facts"

Levittowns have an interesting history.

I of course have been to the northeastern states too many times to count, but I've never seen a Levittown.  It's on the list of priorities for the next time I go, though.

I think that having grown up in a Levittown, but down in Florida, was an important part in the evolution of the psychology and sociology of Pedro Picasso, an exemplar of the 1960s in television-dominated suburban America.

You're not missing much.  I had an in-law that lived in Levittown PA.  Picture a 1200 sq. ft single story house on a small lot replicated thousands of times on winding streets.  I got lost almost every time I went there  or tried to leave.  Every street and every house looked the same.

Over the years people made small changes to distinguish their house from the rest, but in the end they all looked like the same house.

No thought whatsoever, much less one that would tell him that Beck has also gained some advertisers, enough to cover those who are no longer doing so.  To Pedro, once you lose an advertiser then that's all, it's impossible for someone else to take their place.

Poor stupid little Pedro.

The "boycott" of Beck was a shell game.  Fox didn't lose a dime and only shuffled their advertisers to a different slot.

Better luck next time.  Or not.
