Actually, around here it wouldn't be a prob. Obummer worshipers pretty much stay in the shadows. The way it's going lately, it would be a good way to get a mud puddle stomped in your ass. Our unemplyment hit 14% this month!

We do, Mojambo, because we have jobs and the government swipes a hefty chunk of our pay before we ever see it. A really fun exercise would be to give every TAXPAYING citizen a worksheet to turn in with his or her tax return. On it, the TAXPAYING citizen could check off boxes designating which federal program should get some of his or her "contribution". Kind of like the United Way fund drive at your office - oh, wait, most DUers wouldn't be familiar with charitable giving through one's employer. Nevermind. Anyway, if the TAXPAYERS could choose where their tax money was spent, it would be an interesting country indeed.

Here in Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota, it's 4%, which is considered "high" unemployment.

In North Idaho we pretty much run around 10% this time of year. Logging operations and home building slows down around now. Once the snow flies, we hang around the wood stove and drink scotch. Hunting season is getting into gear soon. Many get laid off in order to get out in the woods. I think 1 in 3 around here are avid hunters.

They have a really hard time understanding simple economics. Even your average crack whore understands if someone gives her a couple of bucks he expects a blow job in return. In return for the taxes I pay for local services I expect the fire department to rush to my house and put out the fire should there ever be one. OTOH, my tax dollars that end up as welfare payments to said crack whore because she's got three kids and a habit to support don't do a damn thing for me. I get screwed and don't even get to have an orgasm.
