How Islamist gangs use internet to track, torture and kill Iraqi gays

Sitting on the floor, wearing traditional Islamic clothes and holding an old notebook, Abu Hamizi, 22, spends at least six hours a day searching internet chatrooms linked to gay websites. He is not looking for new friends, but for victims.

"It is the easiest way to find those people who are destroying Islam and who want to dirty the reputation we took centuries to build up," he said. When he finds them, Hamizi arranges for them to be attacked and sometimes killed.

Hamizi, a computer science graduate, is at the cutting edge of a new wave of violence against gay men in Iraq. Made up of hardline extremists, Hamizi's group and others like it are believed to be responsible for the deaths of more than 130 gay Iraqi men since the beginning of the year alone.

The deputy leader of the group, which is based in Baghdad, explained its campaign using a stream of homophobic invective. "Animals deserve more pity than the dirty people who practise such sexual depraved acts," he told the Observer. "We make sure they know why they are being held and give them the chance to ask God's forgiveness before they are killed."

OMFG

But it was okay when Saddam Hussein was doing things like this.

2. That's horrible.

How can these religious monsters be so vicious and evil to someone.

I really hate religion, because it has caused more suffering than anything else humans could believe in. I don't care what flavor of religion it is either. Organized fundamentalist type religion is a toxic belief system that harms any society it is in .Religion deserves to be criticized and shamed. Bigoted adherents chastised or humiliated for being the mouthpieces of the dreams of ancient narcissistic bigots, by bringing the senseless bigotry of long ago into the present by abusing or murdering gays or any other group of people their religion demonizes.

One wonders what the subway cat's problem is, with religion.

3. Abu Hamizi where are you?

I'm more than half tempted to give you my address . . .

I am more than certain that we should hunt you.

But it was okay when Saddam Hussein was doing stuff like this.

4. I agree. If he ever gets through with us, he will find another group to kill. Such evil.

But it was okay when Saddam Hussein was doing stuff like this.

5. He is a coward - if he really wanted to rid the world of the worst of us he would try to find people like me. I invite him to create a DU membership and PM me; I make a solemn promise I will meet him. In his favor, he'll finally get to meet something supernatural, if only briefly. But he and his kind are cowards, hiding behind their stupid ****ing religion and the borders of their country. People are more afraid of what is in them than of anything like me - afraid enough to torture and kill his own brothers. I'll bet the little shit has never even been with a woman himself. I'm guessing the ONLY reason his kind want virgins to sleep with is to avoid being compared.

Abu Hamizi you are a pathetic sad monkey coward.

But it was okay when Saddam Hussein was doing stuff like this.

6. Okay we need to do something about this instead of weeping.

We have a name to hunt. We have journalists happily rebroadcasting their pathology, via the Observer. America is running an occupation in Iraq. Our tax dollars are going to prop up this bullshit government while they hunt and kill our people just for existing. What are WE doing about it, besides wringing our hands?

This group is based in Baghdad, not some desolate tribal region. If they were killing Americans we wouldn't hesitate to hunt them down and exterminate them.

I'm going to suggest a couple of routes here - support for Amnesty is one route, but we also need to campaign to the state department.

We own Baghdad. This is happening on OUR watch. It's not enough to just moan about shit like this in a political blog and then go have a hamburger and forget about it. I'd like a show of hands and some ideas for what WE can do to support OUR people in Iraq - we need to be engaged.

No, stay disengaged; leave the homocidal maniacs alone.

After all, it was okay when Saddam Hussein was doing stuff like this.

Remember?

By the way, sir, your taxes in Tuolumne County might go down.

The squawking primitive, one of your freeloaders, is threatening to die.

I haven't seen that post Frank, but alas when one parasite dies another one quickly takes it's place.

Not one of you, nor will I ever be :puke: , but here's an idea.

Go onto internet chatrooms linked to gay websites, try to find YOUR people in Iraq, and get them to publicly tell you their name and address.  You then can mail them a secret letter warning them about Abu Hamizi.

The same as many people today...overwhelming ignorance.  Modern "history" teaches a lot about the 2% of history in which Christianity did wrong, and absolutely nothing about the 98% of history in which Christianity was the provider of food, shelter, clothing, education, orphan care, health care and all the rest of the normal good works.  I don't know how much the current positive education about Islam will affect the next generation's overall view of religion...but it's likely to make it even worse, given what is actually done TODAY in the name of Islam.

I believe it's the fact that religious people don't think her transsexual trans species lifestyle is normal.
