House to Discipline Wilson for 'You Lie!' Outburst
The House Democratic leadership has decided to bring a "resolution of disapproval" Tuesday afternoon against Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) for his jeer last week at President Obama during a Joint Session of Congress.
Wilson bellowed "You lie!" at Obama during his address. It's against House rules to call the president a "liar" or accuse him of "lying" when the House is in session.
"We're not the British parliament for a reason," said Kristie Greco, spokeswoman for House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-SC)."Ignoring the issue sets a precedent for bad behavior."
Greco described the resolution as "direct" and "non-partisan." ::)

It's about where he said it, not what he said. Gotta remember the dims are all about protocol and nice manners...always. :whatever:

Passes 240 to 179
and 5 voted Obama
-
So with that "resolution of disapproval" along with $1.08, Wilson can get himself a double cheeseburger at Mickey D's, right?
This is what we're paying the House to do - pass stupid-assed "resolutions" like this one.
Freakin' 'tards.
-
I thought Nancy Nosejob Pelosi was not going sanction him....a democrat who lied...shocker!
-
From the website
"Republicans tried to censure Rep. Pete Stark, D-Calif., in 2007 for comments he made on the House floor about President Bush. But Democrats voted to set aside that effort."
But Nancy and Harry can say all sorts of things about President Bush.....I can not wait till the table flips.

Record deficit, climbing unemployment, and this is all our "Representatives" have time for?

It's all about feeeeeewings. :whatever:

This way beyond retarded . . . what a bunch of thin-skinned hypocrtical twits that are the 111th. I still think the idea that Wilson put a copy of this resolution up on ebay and sell it and give the money to charity is a good idea.
-
Way to go Joe, the world knows you stood up and told the truth to a liar. Sweet. And the idiot Dims are too stupid to just let it go away. Sweeter.
-
And let 'em know how ya feel.

I'm going to send Joe an e-mail telling him to wear it with pride.
He said what needed to be said.

House Rules Committee Chairwoman Louise Slaughter (D-NY) has released a helpful, updated primer for members regarding their conduct on the floor and in committees.
Under section 370 of the House Rules and Manual it has been held that a Member could:
• refer to the government as “something hated, something oppressive.â€
• refer to the President as “using legislative or judicial pork.â€
• refer to a Presidential message as a “disgrace to the country.â€
• refer to unnamed officials as “our half-baked nitwits handling foreign affairs.â€
Likewise, it has been held that a member could not:
• call the President a “liar.â€
• call the President a “hypocrite.â€
• describe the President’s veto of a bill as “cowardly.â€
• charge that the President has been “intellectually dishonest.â€
• refer to the President as “giving aid and comfort to the enemy.â€
• refer to alleged “sexual misconduct on the President’s part.â€

Wilson didn't call Obma a liar. He said "You Lie"

Bawney Fwank was censured back in the late 1980s for running a prostitution ring out of his apartment and he was still allowed to stick around and ruin the financial industry.
-
The last time I looked, Joe Wilson doesn't work for Nancy Pelosi.
Screw 'em.
-
Why should he have to tell them sh*t he talked with the Zero that is all that should matter

All 435 of 'em are up. Two year terms in the House, unless my constitutional literacy is waaay worse than I think it is.

Fine. Discipline. Censure him. When it's read on the house floor EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN should stand up and give him an ovation.
Michael Steele and the RNC should do all they can to get him elected and treat him like a GOP hero.
-
And money is pouring in to Wilson's coffers like the nickles and dimes in the final scene of "It's a Wonderful Life."
-
Last I heard he's received some $2 MILLION in donations since then,(2x his DemocRAT opponent for 2010) even though hackers attacked his website and shut it down temporarily. I can't find a link on the donation amount though.
I Googled and Binged joe wilson donations and just got a bunch of libtard links.

Excellent point, I was thinking more along the lines of him never really being challanged in his district before.

Bwarney Fwank probably feels as safe surrounded by the mindless sheeple in his district as he does in the strong, tender arms of his boyfriend.
I think I'm going to be sick. :puke:

House members formally scolded a defiant Rep. Joe Wilson on Tuesday evening for his “You lie!” outburst after his refusal to apologize on the House floor sparked a bitter debate in the chamber.
The House passed a “resolution of disapproval,” considered the mildest form of punishment for a member, by a 240-179 vote that fell largely along partisan lines. Seven Republicans voted to rebuke Wilson, while 12 Democrats voted against the measure.
Wilson (R-S.C.) addressed the chamber, but did not apologize for shouting at President Barack Obama during the joint session.
“I think it is clear there are far more important issues than what we are doing right now,” Wilson said. “It is time we move on.”
The debate sparked an unusually personal debate between House leaders, with Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) calling the resolution a “partisan stunt.” Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) took offense and accused Boehner of misstating his facts.

Would you rather they were trying to ramrod that Universal Healthcare debacle through?
If they want to investigate Major League Baseball again, I'm all for it.
Wilson deserves every dollar of GOP re-election money they give him, if for no other reason than he's kept the Communists off message for better than a week now.

Have to agree here.
Seems Pelosi was just doing this to grandstand.
Since she refuses to do anuthing about corrupt democrats like Rangel, you know she was just doing this as a personal attack against Conservatives, who she also calls racists, and nazis.
