Our AWESOME president commands you click this link (http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x8650294)

Why so worried? I thought it was just a small, meaningless gathering of racists and angry freepers.

Organizing a MASSIVE pro-Healthcare Rally in DC - Contact Info.
Edited on Sat Sep-12-09 06:36 PM by RBInMaine
Our AWESOME President is staking his presidency on this, and he is out there working his rear end off calling us to ACTION. (Great speech in MN today Barack !) If there is to be a massive
pro-healthcare reform rally in DC, and we DAMN WELL NEED ONE, we out here in the grassroots must INSIST on it, and yes, it DOES matter, and yes if it is big enough the MSM will cover it.

I have called Healthcare For America Now to insist upon this. Also, you can contact Organizing For America (the White House political arm) and insist upon it, as well as the Howard Dean organization Democracy For America. Also call/write the DNC. Maybe people in larger cities who have active progressive groups can get them and local progressive officials and political leaders to help get thisoff the ground. Yes, still write letters to he editor, still donate, still call and write your congressional leaders, etc.

But we MUST ABSOLUTELY HAVE A MASSIVE AND UNITED PUBLIC AND VISIBLE SHOWING OF SUPPORT. WE WON THE ELECTION, WE ARE THE MAJORITY, AND WE NEED TO BEAT THE RIGHT WING CRAZIES DOWN INTO THE PUBLIC EYE DIRT AND CALL THEM OUT FOR THE NUTJOBS THEY ARE, AND WE NEED TO SUPPORT OUR AWESOME PRESIDENT. If we UNITE around the absolute need for this and around the motivator to take back the issue from the RePUKES, then we MUST pressure these organizations to do this rally. C'mon folks. It is time to RALLY around this once in a lifetime chance to implement som muchneeded reform while CRUSHING the right wing crazies at the same time.

Please contact friends, neighbors, email pals, send letters to the editor, put it out on other blogs, to unions, etc. etc. Let's make this national rally our goal and show these bastards what grassroots is really all about. (Please, no divisive or detractive responses. Enough of that, and enough circular firesquading. THAT IS DONE FOR ME !! The right wing is the ENEMY, not Dems. Period !)

Any other ideas out there? I am all ears. Thanks.

DUmmies are so much like their president:  Reactive instead of proactive and thin-skinned.

Like Kimberly said ~ if this was no big deal they wouldn't have a brazillion threads complaining about it.

Well the way the media counts we'll know a dozen maggotty hippie types will show up, and it will be 5 million or something like that.

Isn't this like every other "protest" the DUmmies have dreamed up in the last eight and a half years that went nowhere?  Besides, if half your membership can't leave the state due to parole violations/mental impairment/just plain lazyness, what's the point?

"Dude, lets like go to Washington and protest, and stuff."

"Man, that sounds awesome.  Hey, is that Freedom Rock?"

3. We need to remind everyone that WE ARE THE MORAL MAJORITY now.
As our president said the other night, this is a moral issue, and an issue that speaks to our national character.

The majority of voters chose Obama and a Democratic congress. They chose them because they wanted health-care reform as a top priority. We not only need to call out the teabaggers as nutjobs, but as the lunatic fringe.

WE ARE THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS.

I guess the ArtisticLittleGoon hasn't seen a poll or a news report since January.  That "majority" was an air castle and it has long since dissipated.

Poor Little Goons!  Do they REALLY want an embarrassing little "rally" which will only highlight their impotency?  Their call for this surprises me in light of the fact they need constant (yet dishonest) validation.  They are setting themselves up for heartache.

And come November 3rd of 2010, massive depression.

They are scared to death. Us conservatives aren't really known for large scale protests.
They get mad at the media coverage. They got plenty of coverage when they did their temper tantrums and none of the most vile signs made it on the news. I guarantee the media was trying hard to find something they could plaster all over the place to try to make us look bad.

The only problem with a DU DUmmie protest is the slight problem of attendance. Due to a lack of mony, transportation, cheetos or will, none of them could go. The only way they could be represented is if $kimmer will go for them. He of course could go with a sign with the names listed of those who contributed to his travel and sign budget.  ::)

I am thinking that yesterday will be the day marked as the turning point when the dems lose Congress next year.

I think that turning point was cemented at about 12:01 PM EST January 20, 2009.

Probably one of the biggest things that bother them about that crowd is there is NO WAY they can claim they were paid operatives.  That was nothing more than Conservatives in action and it scares the hell out of them.

Why don't we ever show up? Pro-reform rallies today in D.C. is sparce!

So, I took a long walk down to our nation's Capitol this afternoon in hopes of seeing large crowds of pro-health care reform advocates lining the National Mall and the surrounding streets. When I got downtown and to the Capitol, there was a good number of people there, but no massive crowd. There many have been, at the most, 500 people. At the most!

There were other events on the Mall today. The Black Family Reunion. There's always a good number of tourists. And the Redskins' opening is being televised, along with the Washington Nationals game.

I just wish we liberals would plan our demonstrations better. We were overshadowed and greatly outnumbered by yesterday's wingnut "protest".

We are indeed allowing a very small minority of disgruntled people drown out the thinking majority in this country.

We must do better.

1. Because some genius scheduled it after a 3-day weekend?

And frankly, people don't see the threat unless they are already sick and in trouble and then they have more to worry about than showing up for a demonstration.

The healthy people aren't seeing the point. THAT's the problem.

3. I saw the Mad as Hell doctors and they were great. But it was just poorly planned!

We need to get out there, not on a Sunday. We've got to do better on the left.

5. Who organized it? Who advertised it?

I listen to liberal talk radio for about 6 to 7 hours a day, and read more than a few liberal blogs... and I didn't even know this was taking place until yesterday.

Were their buses I could catch? Did anyone set up a buddy travel system for out of state visitor? some sort of sign up web site? Who were the speakers? I live in Arizona right now, and going to DC to hear someone talk... well, President Obama better be on the platform at some point for me to consider going.

Even you desperate lefties won't crawl into an anonymous vehicle with another lefty stranger.  After all, even you guys know the entire left is populated by psychos and weirdos and druggies and whores and pimps and godless immoral narcissist who would do you in for your shiny bridgework and then have sex with your corpse.

Buddy travel?  Yeah  :lmao:  In your dreams.

The DUmmies would be like this except substitute drugs for the Bud Light.

Oh, I've known too many of them.  They hate and distrust each other to the end.  Think of the far opposite of Christian fellowship and brotherhood.  That would be the Little Goons.

It is because everything in life is to benefit them they know that another lib may want something that they don`t.

The knocking down and elbowing everyone else out of the way to the feast.
