Big week for some.
The Buckeye's need a win bad and are underdogs in the Shoe. (as well they should be) I take second to no tOSU fan but I got a bad feeling about tonight. Tie Fighter chasing Han Solo into an asteroid field bad. Bet the farm on the Washington Generals bad.(damn that Meadowlark) Woke up sans beer goggles bad.
So be it. GO BUCKEYE'S!!! BYU won last week... it's our turn!
Penn State won so at least one Big Ten team had a good day. (Michigan can blow leprechaun balls for all I care)
If Florida can hang on to their 46 point lead in the 4th they will eek out a win v Troy. (I assume the Gators have the 4th string in already)
Nebraska seems to be taking care of buisness.
UNC and UCon are tied at 10 with two minutes to go. hmmm
NOt alot of other big teams ahve hit the field yet. (good luck to your favs folks)
-
Update:
Troy doubled their score but it was not quite enough as they fall to Florida by 50.
UNC broke the 10-10 tie, winning 12-10. (waiting for that replay as I watch Michigan v Notre Dame)
Lotta games going on now, most interesting score at the moment is Okla. State 0 v Houston 10. (2nd Q just started)
-
Super-duper Michigan v ND game (minus the bad ending) but I could not tell how good either really is. (but they sure are equal in there, well, whatever)
Oklahoma State didn't get it together and is in for a big fall.
Texas seems to have really gotten in gear in the second half. Anyone see that game?
Anywho, Cincinnati has kicked off in the living room and I'm going to have to dial up Ohio State on the entertoobs in a minute. (tonight would be a good time to bring back some of that dumb luck from 2002 Tressel :-) )
O-H-!!!
I-O!!!
"5000 tickets were given to USC fans" :lmao: So it's uhhh, lemme think a minute... 100 to 1. (man I hope that helps) :uhsure:

Where my FOOTBALL peeps!?
And when did I pass 3k posts? :-)

I had a message reply problem. Any ho. Michigan wins. What a great game.

I'm watching it. My 3rd favorite team (for tonight only) is playing them.
Tennessee lost. :bawl:

#5 Oklahoma State lost, #11 LSU is losing...
... the Buckeye's could be setting themselves up to lose another national championship this very night. (oh wait, that's bad. :bawl: )

True. Big TD fail there.

Uh, I wouldn't say "Nebraska seems to be taking care of business."
Consider the opponent.
We've got a long ways to go yet, out here in Nebraska.

Big 1st down TP.
(stupid running QB's) :banghead:

Didn't want to admit my ignorence of the opponent, just like seeing Nebraska win. :uhsure: I have heard that they are moving in the right direction. True?

I'm an atheist because God hates me.

My main interest in the Ohio State - USC game was wondering if either or both of them were over-rated. I came away believing they both are. This frosh QB for SC is going to be good if he stays healthy, but sooner or later he's going to play like a frosh. Pryor has yet to impress me.
I'll have to look at their schedules, but I'd have to say Ohio State probably has at least 1 more loss to look forward to having, and I wouldn't be surprised to see USC lose 2 games this year, and maybe even more.
Residents of Ohio, I think the best college team in your state this year is the Cincinnati Bearcats. On a neutral field, they would beat Ohio State IMO. They're really very good. I could see them destroying every team in the Big East this year and going undefeated.
Going to bed. I'll coment on some of the other games maybe tomorrow or early next week.

It was Central Arkansas or Arkansas State or Southern Arkansas, or something like that. In other words, not a team loaded with heritage and history and tradition.
As a lifelong Nebraska fan, I think Nebraska will be back after another 42 years of being David beating Goliath--the big boys, such as Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Alabama, Oklahoma, UCLA, and Southern California, other teams with heritage and history and tradition. It's going to take that long to rebuild, and we've got another 41 years yet to go.
God, I hope I live that long.
I had an increase in secretions of the lachrymal glands when Ohio State lost to Southern California, by the way......and when Penn State won their game. Damn.

Normally I would have been around to post, but I was at a tailgate party at 8 am yesterday for the Iowa/Iowa State game. Can't believe I stayed sober enough to watch my Frogs beat down Virginia.
W00T on hitting 3k, Rearden! :cheersmate:

Sooners steamrolled over lowly Idaho State. Beverages and "fat sandwiches" were consumed, everyone was waterlogged, and I left at halftime when they were up 34-0. Tulsa will be a better test for an O-line with 3 new starters that looked slightly better than last week.

After a "boat-gate" (on a boat on the TN River) we watched the game at Ruth's Cris....consuming much alcohol as we watched a Sr quarterback suck pond water :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
We have no chance against FL or anybody else if he doesn't pull his head out of his ass....
Gonna be another long football season.....I'm so glad we no longer fork out thousands of dollars for the priviledge of being season ticket holders.... ::)

Your QB (Crompton) graduated from Waynesville, NC which is about 20 miles West of where I live. I have no idea why UT recruited him, he wasn't that good in HS. The media kept talking him up like he was something special, and he got some reward for playing OK, but his team barely made the State playoffs and then got bounced right off the bat. I think he only got in because Heath Shuler (former UT QB) convinced UT to take him.

That's exactly why he got in.
He is not of SEC quarterback caliber....he needed to be at Carson Newman or Western Carolina at the very best.
