We need a Constitutional Amendment!
Military actions will require 1) A draft and 2) A progressive tax of 3% going up to 15% of all income and capital gains for the duration of the conflict. 3) Anyone who is drafted is exempted from the tax.
Never again should we haphazardly take action. If military action is crucial then it requires each and every citizen be prepared to sacrifice to preserve our nation. When these adventures cost blood at random and take a bite out of the dragon hoard, I bet more often than not that cooler heads will prevail.

Good luck with that one. :whatever:

And these ****ing cretan spent the last 7 years screaming in fear that Bush was going to enact the draft. :whatever:

I'm confused about something.
9-11 happened on September 11, 2001.
The invasion to liberate Iraq happened in early March 2003.
That's almost 17 months.
What was this "rush to war" nonsense, again?

And don't forget getting congressional, and UN approval before a single shot was fired. A lot of their favorite dims voted in favor of it even.

I for one am thrilled that they're at least talking slightly more sense than usual. At least they're not "forcing" anyone anymore. An amendment would be a remarkably, well, constitutional way to do things for the DUmmies. That's a real stretch for them.
-
OK with me DUmmie.....as long as all the DUmmies are either in front of or behind me...I don't want to be fighting a war on two fronts.
mod. to say....Now that was stupid to say wasn't it. :mental: Now I have the enemy on both sides of me....Put the damn DUmmies and the other enemy in front of me.

Frank...the Liberals believe that any war we engage in..no matter how long it takes us to get involved...is a "rush" in their shriveled little minds.

I remember the long lines of liberals choking traffic in the streets as the pushed their way into the military recruiting offices when we went to Haiti, Bosnia, Somalia and Iraq under Clinton.
It so stirred the patriot heart in me that I almosr re-enlisted myself.

D*mn skippy.
No withholding. You earn it defending this nation, you keep every dime.
I should run for office.
-
OK So you want a draft huh. OK As long as you realize your ass is potentail gun fodder on the next war front that's cool. You want to raise our taxes,OK. As long as you realize your taxes go up just as much. looks like the only good thing in there is no taxes on the military . well I guess a blind squirrel gets lucky
-

Why not! And while you're at it, make it so that ALL military personal, active and retired, have to pay NO taxes of any kind, including STATE and LOCAL sales and income taxes....
A small penitence to the brave men and women that keep this country safe....
