Original message

Just returned my son to School

My 5yo is in an all day program at a school in Chicago's west Suburbs. Our school is one of the very few that completely opted out. Even Wheaton (aka Billy Grahamsville) showed the speech with parental option to have the students be excused.

When I called today to inform the school I would be picking him up at 11AM, the office person congradulated me and thanked me for doing the right thing for my child. They were in shock that all the districts that surround us, even those more conservative, where showing it and we weren't. They didn't sound very happy about it either.

When I picked him up, he gave me a big hug - and I told him we were going to watch the President at home, then come back. He was so excited, "President Obama? The President of the United States? We go home and watch The President, Obama?" When we got in, he rushed right to the couch to watch (tv was already set for tivo just in case, and we made it in just as the young man was introducing him).

Hey stupid Kittycat - you could have kept him there and let him watch it at home tonight.  But no, you had to make a scene about taking your kid out of school to watch the socialist in chief.

Kittycat appears to suffer more from attention whoreitis with a pinch of a bouncy mixed in.

She then goes on to reply like this:

11. I find their actions so disturbing, on so many levels.  And the fact that they tried to politicize our children in this is beyond excusable.

Doesn't she realize just how stupid she sounds, accusing "them" of trying to politicize children?  What exactly would she call what she has done?

28. I don't believe in accommodating bigots

If they want their brats to get a zero for the day for an unexcused absence, that's fine with me.

However, there need to be negative consequences for bigotry.

That's what this is, of course.

The warpheaded one chimes in channeling Janeane Garrafalo.  It's bigotry!

I don't know - I'm getting pretty disgusted with the whole racism/bigotry accusations from the Obamabots.  These people just don't  :censored: get it and they never will.

Thankfully, we live in a conservative area...our schools chose to educate our kids instead of having them memorize blurbs out of Obama's speeches, and then listen to one, and discuss it, and worship him as the only president that has ever cared about education.   ::)

It wasn't 10 f'n months ago when "respecting the office of President" was a bannable offense at the DUmp.

They're hypocrites.  If this had been Bush doing this, they'd be all up in arms.

I'm convinced if you could have a Republican prez do something and let the primitives react, and then roll back time and have a Democrat prez do the exact same thing and let them react, then take the primitives into a large arena and show them side-by-side how they reacted completely opposite even though it was the same action taken, they'd still deny they behaved differently.

They are that  :mental:

That's why all you can ever really do with these kooks is point and laugh.  Their actions aren't rational, they never will be, they'll always be nothing more than a giant glob of emotional outbursts without thought, and so we just kick back and enjoy the entertainment.

They're hypocrites.  If this had been Bush doing this, they'd be all up in arms.

When Bush spoke to schools in 1991, Dems held hearings to investigate the cost and legality of Bush's appearance.

"The Department of Education should not be producing paid political advertising for the president, it should be helping us to produce smarter students," said Richard Gephardt, then the House Majority Leader. "And the president should be doing more about education than saying, 'Lights, camera, action.'"

Welcome, Alpha Mare!

That last paragraph of this dumb story was the worst.  Does anyone believe it?  This reminds me of a girl I work with, when she tells a story about something her kid said, she actually puts on a baby voice.  It's sickening, treacly, and precious.

I honestly think that no 5-year old can sit still to hear king zero drone on and on with his head moving side to side.  It's worse than a boring minister at church.  The kids fidget like rabbits.  They're certainly not going to wait with bated breath to hear the gems dropping from his lips.

Uh, what 5 year old gives a rusty about politics? most 5 year olds have no idea who the hell or what a president is! I feel sorry for these kids with moonbats for parents. Why in the hell would you want to indoctrinate a kid this young? how about just letting them be 5 year olds? The most important thing in their day is "when do we get the grahmcrackers?"

Hell my kids never gave a shit about politics until they were old enough to vote. The one thing they learned from me when they were young is, if I called someone a frikkin' Democrat it was an insult!
