"Capitalism is evil," says new Michael Moore film
By Mike Collett-White
VENICE (Reuters) - Capitalism is evil. That is the conclusion of U.S. documentary maker Michael Moore's latest movie "Capitalism: A Love Story," which premieres at the Venice film festival on Sunday.
Blending his trademark humor with tragic individual stories, archive footage and publicity stunts, the 55-year-old launches an attack on the capitalist system, arguing that it benefits the rich and condemns millions to poverty.
The bad guys in Moore's mind are big banks and hedge funds which "gambled" investors' money in complex derivatives that few, if any, really understood and which belonged in the casino. Meanwhile, large companies have been prepared to lay off thousands of staff despite boasting record profits.
The filmmaker also attacks the uncomfortably close relationship between banks, politicians and U.S. Treasury officials, meaning that regulation has been changed to favor the few on Wall Street rather than the many on Main Street. .............(more)

It amuses me when someone makes a very good living in a democratic republic with a capitalistic economic system, then turns around and bashes the economic system that made him rich.

1. Michael Moore is right up there with George HW Bush and his ancestors when it comes to profiting
from American tragedy.
I wonder what he'll do with all the "profits" that his film about evil capitalism generates.
:lmao: :lmao:

7. Or perhaps people don't like or dislike Michael Moore or GHW Bush becuase of their net worth but
instead because of their deeds.
i mean Michael Moore actually works, creates and produces something positive for his money, while GHW bush kills to earn his.
Shouldn't he be taxed at 90%?

Ahh yes...making a movie condeming capitalism while charging folks to see it is so valuable to society. :whatever:
On a serious note though.
Ever notice that for all the lip service they pay to socialism they never once talk of what their contribution to society will be?
Here you have it in a nutshell...they will declare that writing opinion screeds or other useless garbage is an "intellectual" benefit while some one else toils in the mines.

Help me out here....Mr. Moore attacks banks and hedge funds, correct? If memory serves me correct, doesn't George Soros have a major hedge fund that speculated rather heavily in the commodities market in 2008? What about Citigroup whose CEO was former Secretary of the Treasury Robert Rubin?
Does Mr Moore single these people out as the true evil?, or is just white conservative males?

Why anyone pays attention to that fat **** Moore is beyond me. :whatever:
Hey Mikey...why don't you make a film on the Taliban next? I bet your
beheaded bloated body would feed the goats for a month.

When fatso releases his film for free, then he will have some credibility.

You'd have to pay me to go see it. There's 6 zeros on the price.

And only the ones to the LEFT of the decimal point count.... :rotf:

This film might actually be a blessing in disguise.
Moore's other films did quite a number on healthcare, RKBA and the GWoT but now with this movie coming out those in the middle dumb enough to fall for that bildge will now say, "Oh, he's one of THOSE" and it will undercut evrything else he has done; not to mention the fact we get to say, "See, we told you so."

I can't see why people even bother to watch his movies. They have as much in common with truth and reality as the DUmmies do with sanity. Every one of his movies, with the exception of Roger and Me has been dissected and proven to be nothing more than lies, half truths and sneaky editing.
