President announces measures to make it easier to save more. One new idea: Turn tax refunds into savings bonds.
*snips*
Saving tax refunds: To make it easier for those owed tax refunds to save, the IRS will allow tax filers in 2010 to recoup their refund by issuing U.S. savings bonds.

It will start as an option. I'm glad that Dear Leader is looking out for our best interests. : sarcasm:
-
Well at least he's giving us the option! Soon it won't be....
-
When he was elected, I was sitting on over $10000 in I bonds.
Right after, I cashed them in and bought gold.
I'm not investing a cent in HIS government.

To quote John McEnroe, "You cannot POSSIBLY be serious!"

0Bama has to do something since the Chinese are losing interest in buying 0Bama's debt.
-
So I am supposed to take the money from a zero interest loan to the gubmint and invest it in an IOU from that same gubmint?
I think NOT.

To me it is stranger that he made a point of talking about savings at all, since the consensus seems to be that consumer spending will be the main driver in a recovery.

Confirming what we've known all along, the LAST thing he wants is a recovery.

This guy continues to probe the depths of ignorance! What's hard to believe is he is serious about this shit! If China won't buy it, what makes him think Americans want to back his debt?
Everytime I meet anyone who voted for this ass clown I ask them if they're happy now? They quickly change the subject or walk away quickly! Good Grief people, what have YOU done?
-
^screwed us all?

Picked the son up at school and he caught a few minutes of "RUSH"....Rush says, and I agree, "It's not a refund. The government still has your money."
-
I wonder if all of the new home buyer tax credits will be automatically applied this way. This credit is not a taxable loan, like the old 7500 one, but an actual credit, to be refunded back to the buyer. If it is, I won't be a happy camper.
But, overall, it is just another reason why I try to break even every year. I have friends that use the refund as a "savings account." I would rather have access to my money over the course of the year, and invest as I see fit rather than let the gubmint make money off what I earn.
-
Only becomes a big deal when they mandate overpayment. Until then, I'll continue to give a big FU to free loans to the gov't.

That's how we do it too.

Everyone I work with still are singing his praises it makes me ill to see the mindless idiots I want to hit them but I figure if I do I will be standing in line for unemployment so it is easier just to let them belive in the Zero's lies then point out the truth.
