Original message
I had the swine flu. All better now...
In my case, it really didn't feel much different than your run of the mill virus. I suspect that's how it will be for most people. Just wanted to let y'all know that the panic the media is pushing around this is way overhyped. I'm not saying there's no danger, I'm not saying don't take precautions, I'm not saying that no one is going to die from it.

I'm just saying that you don't have to buy into the fear. Even if you catch it odds are overwhelming you'll be just fine after laying in bed for awhile. It lasted a little over a week for me and I feel great now. Thus concludes my report. Thank you for listening.

Miraculous recovery without taxpayer involvement.

7. I went to the doctor last week
More because I was curious than because I was worried. The test results took about a week and I got the confirmation today that yes, I did have the swine flu.

Dirty, smelly wino DUmmy bobbolink, who shits in someone's doorway in Denver every day:

4. I'm glad you're feeling better, and I'm glad you were able to lay in bed for a while.
Many of us don't have that luxury.

Winos like bobbolink have nothing to fear. They will survive like cockroaches.

14. you are DANGEROUSLY wrong and I hope the mods will lock this thread....
You say that "no one will die" of swine flu. I hope you'll reconsider that statement. Are you a virologist or public health officer? A physician? I ask because those folks are suggesting that tens of thousands WILL die of swine flu this winter in the U.S. alone. A woman in my community died of swine flu last month, and several more will likely die here this winter.

It is extremely irresponsible to suggest otherwise unless you know what you're talking about.

Glad to hear you recovered, BTW. Not everyone will.

DUmmy mike_c overlooks 30,000-50,000 U.S. deaths every year attributed to flu. Most, of course, could be
avoided if decent and civilized people had to wait along with DUmmies to see a free government O-doc.

A few years ago it was the bird flu.

There is a flu every year.

This one does not seem all that different from a regular flu.

The difference is that there is nothing in "the flu shot" that will combat this one...so those that normally feel invincible now don't.

Having worked in healthcare for 15 years and never taken the flu shot, I figure my odds are about the same as every year...no reason to panic.   :-)  As you mentioned, the flu kills tens of thousands every year no matter how many get shots.

Three years ago was the first time I got a flu shot. I caught the flu twice that year, after having the shot. Maybe the shot made it easier to get over, but
there is no way to know. All my life prior to that, I had never been immunized, and had never had flu more than one time in a year.

Anyway, it's foolish not to get the shot. Especially when they are so inexpensive, if you are a winner in life's lottery. And DUmmies can get them
free or nearly free from the county health department. I don't go there because I don't like to be around DUmmies. Might catch something.

A shot for what? The shot won't do a thing for "swine flu" so whats the point? I have never had one.

I will watch to see if Obama Nation tries to withhold the shots from the oldsters he seems to dislike.

As I understand it, you may need to get three shots this year. One, which will be available shortly, maybe in September, is the regularly
planned seasonal flu vaccine for this year. The other two, which may not be available until late October, are specifically for the swine flu. You need to have two swine flu shots, three weeks apart, to get full benefit from the vaccine. The seasonal shots have been available for years from CVS, Walgreen's, and lots of other places, for only about $30 if not covered by your terrible American insurance.

I haven't heard what the deal will be for the swine flu shots.

In socialist systems, all those shots are free, I guess. But in socialist systems, they still use those old dull, reuseable needles so you probably
wouldn't get the shot anyway.

I never get flu shots. It would have to get really bad for me to do that.
