We Are Finally Reaching a Tipping Point in Afghanistan Updated at 9:23 AM
The majority of Americans no longer support the Afghanistan War. Anti-war groups are planning a fall campaign against the war. In our deadliest year, it is worsening each month. 8 years we've been there. We are told to give it another 12-18 months just to regain lost ground. Then, how long after that? The only war that lasted longer was Vietnam, and I think we are making a go at that record.
Thankfully, a tipping point nearing. Since violence is down in Iraq and troops are ostensibly leaving, starting this winter, focus can turn to Afghanistan. Get ready for a push to end the war and bring all of our troops out of combat.

I wonder if they will be carrying signs saying Obama is a war criminal.

Yeah I won't hold my breath on the war criminal signs. I wonder how they feel about Aug. being one of the deadliest months in Afghanistan? Who's CinC again? :whatever:

I watched some show last night that was showing film footage of an anti-war protest that just occured. Not very many in attendance, no chanting, somber looks on their faces, no burning Dear Leader if effigy, nothing at all like when Bush was in office. The commentator noted that most the people there supported Dear Leader and wanted to give him a chance. But looking at them you got the impression they were doing it only because they felt like it was what they were suppose to do so as to not completely appear hypocritical, like it was their duty but they didn't really understand why, nor did they really want to do it. I get the same impression whenever I (rarely now) see posts like this on Skin's island about the wars. It's like they're going through the motions, but underneath it all they would just as easily be cheering for it.

Will the DUmmies be cheering this news when more troops are sent to Afghanistan in the very near future? 0Bama campaigned on increasing troops in Afghanistan, and it may be the one promise he does keep.

The only reason any of these wars have lasted this long is because this nation has lost its spine to do what needs to be done. There is too much appeasing of the hippies ..... How many of our men and women have died to appease the sensibilities of hippies?

Too many. Just like too many have died because some fugly female clerk just had to be in the cool crowd, a bunch of total idiots, in a prison. Just like having Dick Durbin calling our troops Nazis and Harry Reid declaring we have lost the war cost troops lives.
There are a whole lot of of folks "on our side" that deserved to be lined up against the nearest wall.

Well, we ARE reaching a point where nobody with a brain has any real expectation that Obama can avoid personally screwing it up and getting a lot of our people killed in a completely pointless cluster****, the DUmmie is right to that extent.

Is Obama a shit-tite or sue-knee Muslim? This could answer why one war in more important to him than the other.

This was the main reason that I held my nose and voted for McCain. Democrats hate the military and I always fear for them when there is a donk CINC. Obumbler scares the piss out of me as CINC.

Uhh, I think we already passed Vietnam. First direct ground engagement of NVA and US forces was in late 1965 in the Ia Drang valley (LZ XRAY), the last one was in early 1970 in the A Shau valley (FSB Ripcord). There was a nasty sapper attack in early 1971 at FSB Mary Ann, but that was during the Vietnamization period. Anything before 65 and after 71 was advisory to ARVN.

Yep! And every single one one of them was a DemonRat!
