The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program to reduce benefits - is low on money
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, is reducing its assistance by six weeks this winter and some of the state-funded agencies which would usually come to the rescue are broke because of a lack at state budget.
Volunteers at the Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network food and clothing pantry near Brodheadsville said they have seen more people than ever this year looking for help. "Because of the economy we have seen a drastic in the number of people coming to us for assistance," said director Eloise Laubach.
Including families who can't afford to pay their heating bills. Many turn to LIHEAP, a federally-funded program that helps people foot their heating bill. However the program has just announced it is reducing benefits this year by six weeks as well as cutting back on the families who can qualify.
"By them reducing the levels that means more people will be calling us," said Ruth Piancone, Transportation/Housing Coordinator for Pocono Healthy Communities Alliance.

I thought that at noon on January 20th, 2009, all of these problems were going to magically disappear????? Was that not what we were told????
I don't seem to remember these things happening during the "horrible" Bush administration........
Could it be that the messiah's government has been too busy buying up banks and auto companies to save the jobs of the union thugs, that they don't have the time (or the money) to fulfill their promises to the "poor"?
How's that for "Hope and Change".........

Funny how there was plenty of money in the system last year when heating oil was $4-plus a gallon but somehow the demand is such that there isn't enough even with the cash price of oil in my town at $2.29/gallon.
-
Well, I did hear Hopey_changey once say, just once mind you, "Everyone will have to work." Maybe he meant it and this is just the beginning of the weaning stage of getting his voter base off the gummint tit.....
Don't worry, he won't need his voter base after declaring Marshall Law.

Speaking of Heating Oil...I hope to GOD I don't have to see Joe Kennedy on my tv again this year hawking oil for Hugo Chavez.

Oh, you just KNOW it's coming, man!

No Social Security COLA, less assistance for heating oil, but the federal employees still got a 2% raise for 2010.

With a shout out to Dead Uncle Ted I bet as well.

Many turn to LIHEAP, a federally-funded program
If that program runs out of money, they should move on to MIHEAP.

Where do these whacked out adolescents think the money comes from?

Get with the program. More elderly die from a lack of heat in the winter, so this ties in nicely with cutting the amount of cash the elderly has. 0Bama has to cut the number of patients from somewhere in order to let the illegals be covered. :fuelfire:

From people like you and me who have jobs and earn an income.
The treat us like breeding stock....literally we are cash cows for the terminally lazy with a never ending need/want/desire for a handout.

This one seems like it should be dilemma for the DUmmies. I mean .... they want to spend our money to help these people heat and cool their homes but ..... what about Globull Climate Change?!
Can't the hippies talk some sense into these low income folks? Maybe they could sell them all thermostats that won't go below 90 in the summer or above 60 in the winter.

I have some solutions for DUmmies....
Rub 2 sticks together until you break a sweat.
Run some duct work from Teddy's grave....bound to be hot in there by now.
Look at some pictures of healing white light.
Crank up the car and charge the battery for heat lamp, run hose from hot exhaust into house, you know, "waste not, want not".

They don't pause to think about where the money comes from. It is assumed that the government just has money.
-
And if they don't have enough, they just go out and print some more!

Just like now . . .

They COULD do what we did and install a wood stove. Of course, that means we have to chop wood and actually fuel the fire instead of just turn up the thermostat. That might be more work than they want to do... :bawl:

Have any of you ever stood on a street corner with a "Will work for food" sign?
It's hard work.....especially when you have to run from a real job.
