Venezuelan Authorities Arrest Opposition Leader

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) -- Venezuelan authorities have arrested an opposition leader for alleged violence during a protest.

Venezuela's state-run Bolivarian News Agency says a local court ordered the arrest of Caracas official Richard Blanco.

Authorities detained Blanco for allegedly injuring a police officer during a demonstration a week ago, the agency said Saturday. The march was one of many protests over a new education law critics say could lead to political indoctrination in schools.

Attorney General Luisa Ortega has said she will ask prosecutors to crack down on unruly protesters who she says are trying to destabilize President Hugo Chavez's government.

Now Venezuela is criminalizing social protest.

Attorney General Luisa Ortega warned that demonstrators who disturb "tranquility and the public peace" could be charged with "civil rebellion."

Here comes the police state. We wouldn't want to disturb Chavezs' peace and tranquility, would we?

I'm just gonna link EFerrari's posts.  We all know she'd father Chavez's spawn without hesitation.

50. Please continue. I don't think you've given this forum a good enough opportunity
 to evaluate your argument.

It goes on and on with these one liners attempting to draw attention away from the OP.  Such a sad sad woman.  She knows the truth, it's obvious with how she franticly fights anything negative about Venezuela.

The violence was all on the part of the Chavez thugs. This is typical leftists behavior. Imagine that guy who got beat up in St. Louis was the one charged in beating up 3 SEIU members. Facts would not matter because the press will follow orders.

The DUmpmonkeys can't understand how Hilter came to and retained power, yet history is repeating itself right before their very eyes in Hugo's paradise.  Can they really be that stupid?

What the hell's the difference? Nazism and Communism are essentially the same thing.

Don't believe me? Give me an educated reason why.

communism and naziism are blood brothers. Naziism doesn't pretend to believe in the ComIntern crap.

There was a letter, a few actually, posted online from a woman who lived in Germany who loved Hitler who just could not understand the fuss. She might as well have been saying "He's going to give us free healthcare, pay my rent put gas into my volkswagon...."

I'm not saying their that differant.  But Hitlers rise to power was based on much differant circumstances.  I was addressing the comparison to how power was gained, not to what the policies are.

I swear, it's like people are trying to make it seem like I'm saying things that I'm not lately.   :whatever:

Damn good thing that'll never happen here. We're too level-headed to accept something like that.

.......oh.........wait............

BTW, I'm sorry, but I have to say it since 95% voted for Obama and Democrats normally get about 90%. Black people in this country are right back on the plantation. 90% of'em anyway.

But Hitlers rise to power was based on much different circumstances.

Not really, DJ. They both came into power using the same circumstances. The only thing you can remove is aristocracy, but it's a scape-goat nonetheless.

They even used much the same language. Hitlers rants against capitalism were identical to the commies.
