Refusing swine flu vaccine? Quarantine and $1,000 per day fine
August 28, 9:34 AM Huntsville Natural Parenting Examiner Katie Drinkard
A bill that has recently passed the Massachusetts senate gives the government a little too much power. The bill is being hurried along due to fears of a Swine Flu pandemic this flu season.
According to the bill, if there is a Swine Flu pandemic and you don't get the Swine Flu vaccine, you can be ordered into quarantine. If you refuse the quarantine, you can face a fine of $1,000 per day that you resist.
I'm including only those two paragraphs because the whole story is only five paragraphs long . . . but it also has a video clip.

From the state of Massive-2-shits...ooops, one of them is gone. What shall I call it now?
-
Will they change the state motto to, "Don't ride with me."

Massholistan is a good substitute.

Finally the government Will give me a paid vacation.
I just love the beach in the fall the air is cripes and sun warm---heaven.
So Hubby and I drive down to cape cod and check into a 4 star Hotel, $500.00 a night. we then head for a hospital coiffing, choking and falling down.
Most likely we will be quarantined in the hotel we just registered in as that is now legal address for us.
30 days quarantine in a luxury sweet, 24 /7 room service, Chances to sneakout at night to head for the night life in town, 30 days of beach combing and heading back to rooms that have been cleaned and polished.
Awaking every morning to a breakfast tray, WELL what you looking at. If the government force's me into quarantine at the hotel I am staying, I have to accept the unknown and march bravely to my suite.
I never said I had the flu I just didn't feel to well as bad clams can do to you.
What, What What , you think I should fight the government and demand to be placed at the Salvation Army center.?
Oh Sigh I feel like Peg Bundy planning a vacation for her family.

They better not do that here...I don't even do the regular flu vacine, and this swine flu one is too iffy for me at this point to even consider.

The fact that the lab 'Rats that created the vaccine won't take it should speak volumes.

I've never had a flu vaccine either.
My daughter does as she's an x-ray tech and it's required. My son had them while in the Navy.
Both of them always get sick when they get vaccinated.
This swine flu vaccine scares me more than getting the flu does.
It's already here and there's supposedly will be no vaccine here until mid-October according to the local paper. It showed up at UT the first week of school....
-
TCU and UTA have already reported cases as well. I imagine we will see more in the schools soon.
I don't do flu shots as well.
-
Since Massholistan (damn, that's a good name Sparky!) is an unabashed liberal haven, I'm kinda wonderin' if the ACLU is going to be all over this - you know, like Teddy was all over The Big Dig. :whatever:
-
Remember back in 1976 when we had the last swine flu scare around 25 people died from complications from the vaccine...
While only one person (at Fort Dix) actually died from the "swine flu"

I had my first AND last flu vaccine back in 1976, during the last swine flu scare.
I was sick as a dog for 2 days, longer than I had ever been sick with any flu, and I have not and will not take a flu vaccine today.
Assachusetts can kiss this! :moon:
-
Massholes !
Follow the money, what Big Pharma lobbyist just struck a deal with someone's war chest ?
I've never had a flu shot in my life ever since I found out more people die of side effects than the actual flu.
-
More people died of the "garden" variety of the flu than swine. I say something stinks................like Gardasil.................we KNOW your daughter is going to be a slut......................
-
I get the regular flu shot every year. Work requires me to be in and out of lots of hospitals, so I take this precaution. The only adverse reaction I have ever had is a sore arm for a day. I've had colds and sinus infections, but have not had the flu in over 10 years.
-
I haven't had the flu vaccine since 2003. I also haven't had the flu since.
-
Never had the flu vaccine myself and I am fine. As long as I take precautions, I should be fine for the most part.

I would think you would be more concerned about some form of bird flu. :-) :bolt:

Birds transmit the deadly avian flu, bunnies are cute and cuddly, but the bunnies are evil? :mental:

Bunnies transmit their fair share of parasites/ diseases. Lice, tularemia to name a couple.

Sh! Let's not give Ptarmy any more ammunition.

Personally, I'm growing tired of the continued hype of this H1N1 "outbreak" that's supposed to happen. First of all, how do they KNOW it's going to get worse?? We already know that the H1N1 strain was manufactured. To what end? Did they remanufacture it to make it worse?? Does the Govt intend on releasing a more virulent strain?? Why the imposition of the vaccines?? Even the scientists that developed the vaccine won't take it. Why do we suppose that would be?? Is it ineffective or .....
deadly??

I've gotten shot with the flu vaccine for quite a few years. The only problem I ever had was (last year) that I got a nasty 24-hour bug that I'm 110% sure was not related to the shot. (Got the bug from The Heiress, who was just getting over it at the time.)
-
This is the biggest crock of nonsense... what bill?
-
http://www.mass.gov/legis/bills/senate/186/st02/st02028.htm
This is in extreme circumstances, vaccination will not be given to individuals whom it is deemed will cause harm to them, if refusal then the party may be isolated in least restrictive environment until they are cleared as uninfected.
I am reading this to be a large scale communicable disease or some type of bio-attack.
90% of the doctors in MA think the swine flu is over-hyped-sky-is-falling-hysteria. Much ado about nothing.
-
Cant we just give MA back to England?
-
I got a flu shot a few years ago and felt like crap for 2-3 days. I vowed never again. Like Thor, I haven't had the flu since then.
I read an article today that said the president won't make it mandatory but he "strongly recommends" that everyone gets the swine flu vaccine. You first, jerk. :whatever:

Note that this is the same vaccine that the folks in the lab engineering it won't take. Tells me a lot right there.

First we heard that a few people in Mexico died from some kind of virus. A small village kind of isolated from medical centers where people were dropping like flys.
Then pictures of thousands of people wearing masks all over the world.
The American CDC then comes out and tells us that they have no idea what this virus is or where it came from. No idea what the symptoms were or how it was spread.
This virus seems to target individuals here and there but so far except for the village in Mexico no Clusters or pockets of the virus attacking a group of people in one area.
They say a virus will mutate and cause off shoots, like first cow pox then small pox, chicken pox on to Shingles and what not.
If the Scientists cannot nail down the source of this virus, how can they develop a vaccine to prevent it.?
The only thing I know about the flu shots I get each year is I have to sign a paper saying I am not allergic to eggs. So like in Jurassic Park, using frog eggs to clone dinosaurs we use bird eggs to make our vaccines------
I may as well hang garlic cloves over my doors and windows to prevent an unknown virus from entering my home.
Some say there are genetic markings that point to hog, bird and human markings. How can this be ??
If we don't know what this virus is how besides washing our hands every 5 minutes will prevent spreading the disease,?
-
I hadn't had a flu shot since I got out of the Army, then got one at the V.A. in October '07. Ended up with a hideous case of flu in February '08. That was my last vaccine.

Alcoa TN shut down their schools starting today until next Tuesday, because so many kids are out sick. Not known how many are "swine flu"....just a whole bunch of sick kids.

Probably not an issue there. That part of the state is solidly rethuglican. :-)

Alcoa is in Blount county....they shut the rest of the county's schools down today....still don't know how many of them are actually "swine flu"....but TV said that many of them have "flu-like symptoms".
This county is adjacent to mine....I was just over there shopping Monday.... :banghead:...Lowe's, Dolllar Tree, Hobby Lobby and Wal-mart.....all nice "germ-y" places.... :bawl:
Cannot get sick....doing a wedding for 90 (was originally 35-50) people on Saturday, finishing table decorations and grocery shopping tomorrow (uh...today) and cooking all day Friday. Next time I "volunteer" to do this....someone just needs to shoot me.... :censored:

Did you all catch the emergency powers granted to the Massachusetts governor and health commissioner? "...to close or evacuate buildings, enter private property, isolate or quarantine people, to get and distribute meds and vaccines." Plus a list of "volunteers" to carry out these orders and $1000/day fine and prison for people who refuse to comply.
And guess what? Now Maine declared a "state of emergency" because of the panic:

It's coming down the beltway, folks, like a steamroller without brakes and you're superglued to the pavement.

I have had one and only one flu shot in 94 and almost died I was allergic to one of the ingredients so the doctor saw me after advised me to never attempt another one.
-
I've never had a flu shot, and have never had the flu, or least haven't been sick enough to visit the doctor over it.
-
I've never had a flu shot and really don't think I've had the flu but once....about 1975 and it was called the Port Chalmers Flu that year. I was sick as a dog for about 10 days.
I did have new-moan-ya at age 6 and almost died from it. Had to have a Tracheotomy so I could breath and they could suck the fluid out of my lungs. That was 58 years ago this Christmas and I still remember it all quite well.

All this despite the FACT that REPUTABLE MD's say the virus is mild. And that only those with compromised immune syatems are in any danger above a mild discomfort.
