Jake Sherman reports on Congress.
The death of Sen. Edward Kennedy quickly became a rallying cry for Congress to pass health care overhaul legislation.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office sent an email to reporters at around 2:30 a.m. today, just hours after his death, calling for the passage of health care overhaul. “Ted Kennedy’s dream of quality health care for all Americans will be made real this year because of his leadership and his inspiration,†the statement read.
Andy Stern, president of the Service Employees International Union, also issued a statement this morning calling for the passage of health care overhaul. “Let us continue his cause,†Stern said. “Let us take action this year to pass health care reform. And let us continue to build Kennedy’s vision of America.â€

Who saw this coming.
Who didn't see this coming? Ray Charles?
-
Ray Charles didn't need to see it coming. He could smell it 20 miles away.

Who didn't see this coming? Ray Charles?
I knew this was going to happen.

Ronnie Milsap?

I have all ways wondered if the civil rights laws would have been passed into law had a Kennedy not been killed. Was not the bill passed to honor his memory ?
Was Jack killed to preventing him from pushing the Bill. If so it kinda backfired.
And that Jack Ruby, we will never know. If he could come back to life for just one hour and answer my questions, I would sell my CATS.
This death can affect us perhaps more then what he did to us in life.

Ray died a few years ago but he still could see that coming.

Hard to imagine someone of whom the American public loved more than Ted "Chappaquiddick" Kennedy and would want to forgo their own desires regarding healthcare in order to pass something in his honor.
Uhh..... Hold on... Wait a minute....

Which republican said "never let a good crisis go to waste?" Oh wait...

Anyone hear Limbaugh's opening monologue? It was terrific. Basically he described the health care that Kennedy had at the time of his death. The family had to decide many issues but there was no help from a government burecrat. He demonstrated the uncanny will to live that we all have. If any bill is passed in his honor it should be to preserve that system, not destroy it!

Its fitting that the Health Care Plan will be named after Ted Kennedy, because by insisting on the Public Option Pelosi and the Democrats will drive the Bill "over a bridge" and the entire legislation will be "dead in the water."

^excellent :=)
I can't wait to see the funeral. I'm sure it will make the Wellstone memorial a distant memory. I wonder how many Dems will throw themselves into the path of an oncoming reporter with a microphone to plea for govt run healthcare? (answer: all of them) :whatever:

Bloated, fat and immoral describes both the health care bill and Fat Teddy.

“Let us continue his cause,â€... drink up all the lick-her, screw all the women, take all the bribes, shoot all the shit and meet for a midnight skinny dip down by the bridge.
