Haaretz survey: 46% of Israelis thinks gays are deviants
http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1105652.html
Almost half of the Israeli population believes that homosexuality is a perversion. A Haaretz-Dialog poll, conducted under Prof. Camil Fuchs finds that 46 percent of the people surveyed answered the question "Do you see homosexuality as a perversion?" in the affirmative, while 42 percent answered that it was not a perversion. Twelve percent said they did not know.
The survey also finds that 71 percent of the ultra-Orthodox population believe homosexuality is a perversion. So do 67 percent of the religious (Orthodox), 64 percent of the Arabs, 57 percent of the Russian-speaking immigrants, 44 percent of the observant (traditional) Jews and 24 percent of the secular population.
-snip-
Yaniv Weizman, head of Tel Aviv's gay youth organization, said "It comes as no surprise to me that almost half the public thinks I'm mentally ill and should be imprisoned, treated or killed. However, I feel we've made some progress. If 26 percent of the religious and 27 percent of the Arabs say we're not perverts, you can say we've achieved something."

I find it odd that Underground Panther is a moderator on the Iraeli forum...

1. If this isn't an endorsement for a secular society...
...nothing is.
I mean, really...a transgender furry is also jewish? A Jewish transgender furry?

4. Why is this in the I/P forum? It should clearly be in the GLBT forum.
This has nothing to do with Palestine.
Will a moderator please move it there.
When it goes to Temple, assuming it goes to temple, where does it sit?

10. In a perfect world, yes
But add the words Israel, Palestine to some posts and you will see the topic shift to feelings dealing with the broader I/P issue. The use of specific cliches here has already been shown to be the case.

Lithos has a back kittie as an avatar. You don't suppose she/he/it and UP are...sharing the same litterbox...do you?

11. The OP has nothing to do with the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians
so I don't know how my second comment justifies your "No"... given that the guidelines contain the following as the second sentence.
"As you know, this is where you may discuss issues surrounding the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians."
Agony
Gay transgendered furries are a huge part of the Iraeli Palistinian conflict.

14. Do you do anything but try to excuse racism and homophobia?
I guess the answer is yes, because if it's Arab racism and homophobia yr all over it like a rash, but there trying to excuse it with 'look over there!' arguments if it's Israeli racism and homophobia....
Oh, and no-one but you said anything about Israel being evil, so knock it off...
Hypothetically, if UP parachuted into Iran, the mullahs would spend years trying to figure out how they were supposed to kill it, based on religious laws.

Let's poll their little darlings, the Muslims.

As did the Germans during Hitler's reign...and the Chinese under Mao, to this day.

I guess its not such an endorsement for a secular society after all.
A Darwinist could always argue against homosexuality on the grounds that it is genetically disadvantagious but even the most ardent Christian would have to yield to the scriptural unctions that homos--just like adulterous/drunkard/violent/criminal sinners--can be redeemed if they amend their ways.

I'm counting on it. :-)

I myself have broken 11 of the 10 Commandments.

If the queers aren't deviants, then who is?
The CU furries?
I believe the normal human psyche feels an instinctive revulsion toward homosexuals.

slacker.

Yeah but have you done it 57 of the lower 48 states?
-
And if memory serves the Soviets persecuted homos as well.
Every Communist regime went after homosexuals from Soviet Union, China, and North Korea.

Yeah but have you done it 57 of the lower 48 states?
 I'd H5 you if I could.

It's actually quite appropriate given the slant of the venue.

I would think the number would be higher.
The mass media has been quite successful in the last 30 years in "mainstreaming" this particular sickness.

They had a bit of help from the APA who took homosexuality off of the list of human psychological disorders in the 80s! Until that time it was considered even in the very liberal psychological community....... a mental illness!
