For the last couple of days I have had the riots of the late 60's in my mind. I was in Washington when it burned, I was in Miami when it burned as well. The reasons for the riots then were entirely different and entirely the same as circumstances presented to us now. Millions of people with no where to go, no hope of a better future, no representation in Government, no recourse in the courts, no protection from predatory wealth. Racial tension, joblessness, inflation, and no effective Government at all for those on the bottom.

All it would take is a spark and the tender is gettin' dryer every day.

Immunity for Libby, immunity for an entire industry. Spying and financial rape, the few getting every break, the many getting tossed out of their homes and worst of all - the incessant, never ending, mind-numbing-drone of the lies. Not one word coming out of Washington can be trusted.

This could be a summer of fire, and if it is it will be a horrible thing but the pendulum swings wider with each pass and the insults grow worse by the day. I don't think we are a nation of sheep and I don't think we will take it much longer.

4. I was just watching CNN - saw the 'big increase in food prices'

... crawler and had a thought-flash ... we are on our way to becoming Russia in the 70's --- bread lines, no infrastructure, hopeless and disenfranchised people ... but we have some big-ass bombs ... :eyes:

5. It is almost verbatim

from "The Shock Doctrine" what is going on. I think we as a nation were in denial that certain things could not happen here because we are the US and we are a super power. But look at us now. We are indentured slaves, homeless, hungry, powerless. I think this is an absolute recipe for a "fire". The only questions is when, were and how bad; and what will the PTB do to keep the status quo.

I defy one DUmbass to prove to me that they were ever in the USSR. I was there twice in the mid 80s and those stories of nothing on the shelves and lines at the stores are completely true.  The Russia of todayis still not the USA of the 1930s, except for the gang running things.

I'm not rich by any standard.

Not getting kicked out of my home. Where are all these people getting kicked out of homes? Have we opened the camps already? Did I miss a memo?

But look at us now.

I do, and I see nothing different except we now have a recognized foreign enemy to go along with our hidden domestic enemy (American liberals).

We are indentured slaves

You mean the folks we pay money to do nothing?  Those slaves?

homeless

Where?  Where are these masses of homeless people.  Where?  Even when crooks stop paying their house payments, they just move somewhere else.  They aren't living under bridges.  I've looked.  No one is under the bridge.  They are in apartments or another house.

hungry

I had scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, and gravy.  I'm not hungry.  I'm having a Dr Pepper too.

powerless.

My lights are working fine.   So is our REPUBLIC.

Oh my.

That's quite embarrassing

Thus far in the two-month history of the DUmpster, there's been two duplicates.

And franksolich did both of them.

Ooops.

yep, most of the families around here are planning their kids' summer camps and deciding where to go on their vacations. granted, it takes planning and nobody is throwing money around.. but we never really did to begin with.
