The mister and I are going to a church pot luck in about a week. I want to make Swedish meatballs in a crock pot. I could go on line and choose from millions of recipes but I wanted to use one from a tried recipe that kicks ass! Anyone got any recipes for the crock pot, i would love to hear them, thanks!

Hmmm...I'll have to let the other wonderfull CC cooks help you with this one...I don't think I've ever cooked swedish meatballs!

Not ignoring you SO, but I have never made Swedish meatballs. Are they very different to other meatballs?

Iv'e made this one, and it's pretty good. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/swedish-meatballs-recipe/index.html
I don't know about doing it in a crockpot, but you could look up some Lutheran reciepes also, like this one (they love their pot lucks!):

I know it's too late, but maybe next time. My wife has made this several times and it's good.
Swedish Meatballs Recipe
2 cups soft bread crumbs
2/3 cups milk
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
3 eggs, slightly beaten
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon netmeg
1 teaspoon paprika
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons floor
1 tablespoon beef base & 1 cup water or
1 can condensed beef broth, undiluted
1 cup sour cream
Soak bread crumbs in milk until softened. Melt
1 tablespoon butter in a saucepan or skillet &
saute onion over low heat until softened. Mix
softened bread crumbs, cooked onion & ground beef.
Add eggs, salt, pepper, nutmeg and paprika. Mix
thoroughly until blended. Shape meat into small
balls, dusting hands with flour frequently while
shaping the balls. Melt remaining 3 tablespoons
butter in large skillet. Add meat balls and fry
until browned, turning carefully to brown all sides.
Remove from pan, pour off all but about 3 tablespoons
of drippings, then stir 3 tablespoons of flour into
the remaining drippings. Stir until well blended. Add
beef broth, & a dash of pepper. Cook, stirring
constantly until thickened. Reduce heat to low and cook
5 minutes. Stir in sout cream, a little at a time,
stirring until thoroughtly blended after each addition.
Return meatballs to sauce; cover pan and simmer gently
5 minutes. Serve with hot buttered noodles. Makes
about 6 dozen meatballs.
