An outspoken homeless man is in jeopardy of losing his well-known "protest site" in downtown Naperville.

The Naperville City Council on Tuesday night authorized the preparation of an ordinance restricting living, sleeping and camping on public sidewalks in the city's downtown.

The move, approved by a 7-1 vote, was spurred by the constant presence of Scott Huber, who is homeless, on a public sidewalk at 75 E. Chicago Ave., near a Barnes & Noble bookstore.

Huber's "protest site," as he calls it, contains a gray tarp covering a rickshaw, generator and electronics, including a laptop from which he blogs.

Maybe he's a prophet, showing us how we'll all be living after 4 years of our Dear Leader's reign.
