Title: DUmmies Discuss Comcast Plot Against Keef and Carpetmuncher
Post by: GOBUCKS on August 15, 2009, 05:44:16 PM
DUmmies, ever vigilant against any threat to Keef or the carpetmuncher, uncover a Comcast plot
to stifle socialism and put Roger Ailes in charge of the world:

FOX is bragging that their ratings are up,
while MSNBC's and CNN's are down. Then yesterday Congressman Culberson kept bringing up to Laurence O'Donnell that MSNBC's viewership is "in the tank" in his lame rebuttal to O'Donnell's relentless questions about health care reform - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDNw4EFUy4Q

Today someone sent me an article about Comcast's highly discriminatory new practice regarding cable news, effective 8/12/09:

<A fellow progressive alerted me today about a highly discriminatory new practice being implemented by Comcast. I told him I would post something on Kos since he is not currently active here. From what I can tell, this applies to all Comcast customers, not just those in my (quite red) area of Jacksonville, Florida.

As of 8.12.09, Comcast has moved MSNBC from its Digital Starter Package to its Digital Classic Lineup while leaving Fox News on the Starter package. What this means is that one now has to pay an additional $17 per month ($204 per year) to view anything progressive enough to even remotely balance out FNC's right wing extremism (although, let's be honest, MSNBC could install Castro himself in Tweety's time slot and still not provide sufficient balance for the far-right insanity that is Beck/Billo/Hannity).

So they are calling this a "channel realignment," which I guess is like the broadcasting equivalent of gerrymandering. Apparently it's done with electronic switching from the Comcast HQ. The neighbor who alerted me to the situation is an attorney, and he thinks this appears to be to be an FCC/Fairness Doctrine violation. He has suggested to our Senator, Bill Nelson, that congress should enforce a "Menu Based" or "Cafeteria Style" subscription contract on the cable industry since it costs them nothing to make the switches.>

DUmmy Mythsaje casts doubt on the conspiracy, which is surprising, since his finances will only
permit rabbit ears. As soon as interest in paranormal sex crimes picks up, he's springing for the
full package, though, including Sunday Ticket:

1. MSNBC requires more per subscriber than FOX does...
The move was effectively done at MSNBC's request.
Chew on that.

9. Never mind
I've been checking around and I think it is more that FOX charges LESS than other cable news channels, as they appeal to lower income viewers, their target audience. Such viewers often rely totally on FOX for their news, whereas more liberal viewers get their news from a variety of sources and are able to read.
I think that DUmmy PatSeg has forgotten that she hates us because we own all the stuff.
We could not get all that stuff without being able to read.

12. I'm also curious if it's true that Fox gives public venues free tv's in exchange for said tv's
being tuned into to Fox.

No, it's not true. They also give free TVs to private venues. They sent me a new 65" flat panel
just in time for college football season. Fox News logo on the remote. And I have lots more
cool stuff, a lot of it given to me free, DUmmies.

10. I think Dish is blue.
But not entirely sure.

Actually, DishTV is an American corporation that has survived so far.
That is a sure indicator that it is run by Republicans, every one of
whom owns more stuff than any DUmmy.

14. Do they only count viewership in residences or do they include places like Dunkin Donuts
and dentist offices?

15. And gas stations
I used to go to a gas stations that played FOX News at the pumps. Haven't been there in years,
so don't know if they still do it.

16. Yeah, those, too. I'll bet half of Fox News shows broadcast to a business locale
and not a home.

No, DUmmy that's not right. But nearly all business locales do show Fox News,
because nearly all businesses are run by Republicans, and nearly all their
best customers are Republicans.

Good God these loons are pathetic morons.

DUmmies, FOX News and people like Rush are popular for one
reason, they are watched/listened to by a shit load of Americans
who have free will and can watch/listen to anything they want.

Sorry if the majority of Americans don't listen to Air America or Mike Malloy.

Morons.

Your attorney neighbor is an idiot.  There is no fairness doctrine and the FCC has no jurisdiction over cable operations.

Must be an alcoholic drug addicted registered sex offender who barely passed the bar exam twenty-five years ago if the best this "attorney" can afford is a place near a DUmmie.

The neighbor is probably the guy who cleans the restrooms at some attorney's office.

Isn't it funny? I get my info from a variety of sources; I just reject piles of horse manure when I see them. DUmmies, in their superiority mode, don't get that people can actually REJECT information they deem or know is crap. Hurts their fragile ego to think that people know everything they do and still reject that which they would make a religion out of if you let them
