I've never met a left-wing business student...

The Daily Show did a short piece on this subject last night.

But I have a lot of experience dealing with business students. Most of them seem to be decent people. But they almost all fit the same right-wing libertarian philosophy.

I've also spoken with economics professors and there seems to be an obsession with right-wing schools of economics. The bottom line is that it's very hard to find a business or economics professor willing to teach their students about the benefits of socialism or even more regulated forms of Keynesian economics.

Do these programs attract the Madoffs of the world? Or are the programs breeding them?

It makes sense actually. A liberal going into business would be like a Scientologist (I believe they are ones who preach against medicine) going into medicine.

7. I just finished my MBA and we covered sustainability, corporate responsibility, etc. VERY HEAVILY...

sometimes to the detriment of actually learning business basics like statistics, economics, marketing, accounting, etc.
so you should realize that taxing companies into the ground isn't good for the company.

But I really don't want to waste my time with econ classes if all I am taught is Reaganomics.

I've always been interested in Marxism.

You should have a long career flipping burgers then. I am so sure businesses will line up to hire a Marxist.  :-)

That's probably one of the worst lies I've ever seen told at Skin's island.  All the Ivy League schools are Keynesian as are the overwhelming majority of State universities.  There's maybe a handful who are not primarily and secondarily Keynesian, the Univ. of Chicago (home of Milton Freidman) being one of the few free market monetory economic schools.

Also saw a thread over there where this immature little oaf started yelling at his parents because they disagree with Obama.  Of course at age 19, he's more intelligent than they are.  :whatever:

I'd be interested to know what those benefits are.

Aren't people enjoying those benefits the same ones who have risked being machine-gunned to escape?
Haven't other beneficiaries of socialism tried to cross the ocean on truck tire innertubes?

Socialism just hasn't had the right people running it yet is all.  :-)

Sorry, asking an Economics professor to expound on the benefits of socialism would be the equivalent of asking a Geography professor to discuss the positive aspects of "Flat-Earth Theory."  Good for a laugh, probably, but it's not a serious endeavor.

AoW:  "Property is theft!"

His employer:  "Only if you actually cash that paycheck, AoW."

Going to a primitive for anything is like going to a plumber for a root canal.  :-)

It's Christian Scientists who eschew medicine.

I'm trying to remember back to my econ classes.  I don't think that they were complete moonbats, like you'd tend to find today.   Dry as dust, to be sure, but heavy into math & stats.  No desk-pounding bloviating.

If AofW's econ class is teaching Reaganomics, he would be mightily well-served to attend.

No there have been a ton of left wing businesses.  They only survive a few months, but there have been a lot of them. :rotf:

Remember the DUmmie that was going to open the vegetarian hot dog restaurant?  I wonder that worked out for him?

Yes, his head could explode, and that would be a shame, because that makes a big mess, but so be it.

Vegetarian hot dog restaurant?  Revolting.  I ate one of those once and still remember the unpleasant experience.
