The inmate, who was not identified, stabbed himself in the back of the head with the sharp end of a broken chopstick on Feb. 19. He was treated at a Tokyo hospital for his injuries, but died Sunday in the Fuchu Prison infirmary, the Mainichi Daily News reported.

Japanese prisons are no joke.  They make ours look like a 5 star resort.
