Guess that Leon Panetta wasn't able to sway Eric Holder President Obama . . .

Insiders say Atty. Gen. Eric Holder is close to naming a prosecutor to look into reports of excessive waterboarding and other unauthorized methods. Convictions could be hard to get.

Reporting from Washington -- U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. is poised to appoint a criminal prosecutor to investigate alleged CIA abuses committed during the interrogation of terrorism suspects, current and former U.S. government officials said.

A senior Justice Department official said that Holder envisioned an inquiry that would be narrow in scope, focusing on "whether people went beyond the techniques that were authorized" in Bush administration memos that liberally interpreted anti-torture laws.

Current and former CIA and Justice Department officials who have firsthand knowledge of the interrogation files contend that criminal convictions will be difficult to obtain because the quality of evidence is poor and the legal underpinnings have never been tested.

Some cases have not previously been disclosed, including an instance in which a CIA operative brought a gun into an interrogation booth to force a detainee to talk, officials said.

Other potentially criminal abuses have already come to light, including the waterboarding of prisoners in excess of Justice Department guidelines, and the deaths of detainees in CIA custody in Afghanistan and Iraq in 2002 and 2003.

Expect a wave of resignations from the CIA, as the Democrats are now politicizing how this country gathers intelligence, and by extension even how this country defends itself.

If we waterboard a few of them so what if it keeps thousands of innocent people safe do it. I believe there is a special place in hell for all of those that want to harm to us.

I don't know about that one way or the other, but I have no problem sending them to look for it.

It's simple.  The Libs don't believe that we shouldn't be a world super power.

They want us on a level playing field with the Iraq's and Afghanistan's of the world.

And they believe that we should do anything and everything to keep this country safe.

Unless of course it's reporting people for criticizing the Socialized Medicine plan.

See Libs in this country don't see the Taliban or al-Qaeda or Abu Saief or even the Weather Underground or SLA as a "terrorist threat".  They are the product of an Imperialistic Jingoistic United States...in short we made them act that way by just being ourselves.

What Libs view as terrorism is Tea Bag protests...Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck...protests against Socialized Medicine...the Republican Party and current and former members of the U.S. Military.

I thought that I read previously that a grand total of two detainees were waterboarded, both of them top tier bin Laden handmaidens. The article makes it sound like it was done as often as serving chow.

One of them was Khlaid Sheik Mohammed.

They have to make it sound like we waterboard every detainee at Gitmo to support their stupid meme.

We are just going to be caught with our pants down around our ankles again. The Zero wants to be friends with the world and sing and hold hands meanwhile we are just opening our country to more attacks.

Some how they seem to think that dropping trau and grabbing their ankles for every third world dictator makes the "rest of the world" like us.

This smacks of a diversionary tactic.

0Bama: "Hey Eric, we're catching a lot of flack about healthcare , is there anything you can do to distract the angry mobs?"

"yessir, boss.  Got just the thing, we'll bring up threats about criminal charges that may go all the way to the top."

If this is treated in anyway like Janet Reno handled some of her cases expect there to be some kangaroo court BS to go on to get those convictions.
