I feel like putting my belongings on my back and walking north to Canada
After yet another day of listening to incredible lies, distortions and fabricated "rage" I am tired. I am tired of the liars and especially tired of the media promoting them. I am tired of living in the only industrialized country in the world that views its citizens as little more than horse meat.
I am tired of an opposition party that does little opposing.
I will soon be 60. Nationalized health care is something I have waited for all my life. Be patient I have been told since I was 12 years old and Jack Kennedy assumed the presidency.
But what really makes me tired is the incredible stupidity of my fellow countrymen and women. As Obama said last year in slight jest "they aren't only ignorant, they are proud of it."
The ignorance is on display now in the health care debate. But as soon as this one is put to rest, another fake controversy will be created with battle lines immediately drawn. The right wingers will yet again put their stupidity on display by acting like puppets for the obscenely rich. The wingers will yet again fight against their own best interest and **** us all in the process.
And what is really appalling is the waste of resources on these 'controversies.' The money and manpower simply wasted on these stupid fights could go a long ways toward solving some real problems in this country like homelessness and poverty. The mind power wasted could be solving problems like climate change. And most of all the lives ruined and the fear and fright within families is tearing the country apart.
I am thinking Chalmers Johnson was right. It's time to move to Canada and watch the USA implode from across the border. Better yet if we folk in the upper midwest had any brains we'd start the petition process to be absorbed by Canada when the USA implodes.
Sadly my wife and I are too old and decrepit to be accepted by Canada. But I do tell my kids to keep their passports current and have their resumes ready. Maybe if I can't escape the insane asylum, they can.

DUmmy rurallib makes some startling disclosures in his lament of being forced to be an American. First, in order to emigrate, he will first have to escape from an insane asylum. That's a challenge facing lots of DUmmies. The surprising thing is how many asylums allow them internet access. Second, at age 60, after a lifetime in the richest country on earth, DUmmy rurallib can carry all his belongings on his back as he trudges into The Great White North. And by the way, that racist nickname for Canada brings up another point. Not near enough diversity up there to suit most DUmmies. Or is maybe that lack of diversity why Canada seems so civilized, and can afford socialized medicine?
Finally, and most surprisingly of all, DUmmy rurallib has been pining for socialized medicine in America since he was 12 years old. At age 12, I was pining for a deer rifle, so I guess DUmmy rurallib and I don't have a lot in common.

1. They don't want hubby and I either... too old. Current passports and a good resume...
I tell my son the same thing. Maybe he can meet a nice Canadian girl... sigh.
Canada doesn't want anyone who can't use pronouns properly. I don't blame them.

2. I'm with you. If I had known this 30 years ago, I would have moved. Seriously.
If I had known what a cesspool of hate this country would become back in 1980, I would have taken steps to get the hell out. Then, I still thought there was hope. Obama's election gave me hope. But this is Limbaugh's country ultimately, and the corporate oligarchies. I am sick of the hate. Stuck now; like you, close to 60.
I think we should pack up all these DUmmies and force the Canucks to take them. It would be our version of the Mariel boatlift.

3. I had opportunity to go during Vietnam.
My girlfriend at the time had set up everything for me. She never told me however. I wasn't drafted so she felt we wouldn't need to flee. Had I known she'd done all that I'd have been gone.

6. Lottery number 247, 1970. Didn't have to go.
Maybe it would have made a difference. In 1973, I lived in Europe for a few months, and new friends offered me the chance to stay. I came back, for friends, family and college. Maybe I should have stayed, but way too much water under the dam now.
Maybe retirement in a few years will see me go. I have always loved this country, but the hate that is out there now is too much to tolerate for this progressive.
DUmmy Faygo Kid loves this country, this cesspool of hate that he cannot escape. Don't you dare question his patriotism.

10. Full moon?
Weird. The past couple days I've been thinking the exact same thing.
Maybe DUmmy Kindigger will be a lucky escapee.

4. I agree 100%
If I'd had any inkling in my younger days that this country was going to be driving off a cliff I would have gone north -- or to Europe. Now I'm in my 50's and too old to start over again somewhere else. I hope my nieces and nephews who are in their teens and early 20's will be able to get out while they are still young and live in a civilized country. I frankly don't see things getting any better here, only worse, and that makes me very sad.
Yeah, it's pretty bad. Ask Kenya what it's like to have a Kenyan president. Maybe DUmmy DebbieCDC can dig an escape tunnel into Juarez for her nieces and nephews. (Wonder why DUmmy DebbieCDC doesn't have children?)

My father moved to Canada. Has a canadian girlfriend, and works for a canadian company. He still loves America though. Maybe that's why they let him stay? :-)
-
Sadly my wife and I are too old and decrepit to be accepted by Canada.
In other words you would be too expensive and a burden on the system you beg for even though you are not even 60 yet.
That a person can write that knowing what the truth is yet force themselves to believe the opposite is liberalism in a nutshell.

tell ya what DUmmy - sneak into Canada, with a backpack stuffed full of rocks. Make your way to the financial district, break some windows and wait for the police. argue with them. Alot. If you do it just right, you'll get to stay in Canada, and enjoy their health care system without anyone getting hurt. While in prison, find a delightful young Canadian man to shack up with, maybe then you'll fall in love, get married and be able to stay forever.
Just don't make or drink toilet wine.

Nice to know how many COWARDS reside at the DUmp!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
What's stopping them? Can't they figure out how to get to the airport in Pyongyang or Havana and mutter "refugee" in the local lingo? I mean surely Castro and Kim could use them for propaganda or something, and they wouldn't have to suffer under the heel of us evil capitalists anymore.
-
DUmmies can't do anything for themselves....Sooooooo, lets demand congress pass a bill providing them safe passage to any country of their choice.
Of course there will be a "No Return" policy with that.
-
Good God. They own the White House, and both houses of Congress, and they STILL want to leave? Go then! I'll stay and fight for my country.
-
Sadly my wife and I are too old and decrepit
DUmmie survived 48 years without socialized medicine? All he needs to do is wait another 10 or so and he won't need it any more. :rotf:

Just an interesting side note----America is not the land or the Oceans that abut it, America is a land of the strangest ideas to ever hit the planet.
Freedom, safety, a way for people to live their lives as they see fit with no King to place burdens on them.
Some restrictions on Americans, one must pay taxes for the general wellfare and serve to protect the nation. Other then that people were free to strive and gain what they can.
Americans were expected to live and thrive as best they could. Encouraged to better themselves and future generations themselves.
That is all America is, a place people go to and the results of their hard labor is on them not someone else.
Somewhere everything got twisted about, if one goes back to the Constitution, nothing is said that Americans can demand anything from the government but safety from foreign intruders, and the safety of our own citizens from states laws that contradict the Constitution.
Every thing was up to the people to deal with, when they made a choice that was theirs, they lived or died with the consequences.
It was a hard life back then when our freedom was won. Now we have had the freedon for 300 years to live as we wish.
However, living as we wish now means we can place the burden of our selfish action on the government, we can expect the government to take care of us and our family's if we decide we don't want to do it any more. No problem for a man who decides he sees greener pastures down the street, the State will care for his kids and wife.
We decide to go into business and it fails, no problem the government will let us go bankrupt and cause our lenders to do so also.
This is not what America is about, it is about the freedom for mankind to make their own decisions and have to live by them.
The State government is in place to see to their citizens, some bank swindles people out of money, then the state steps in. Whatever is going on in a state from corruption to down right skulduggery is the problem of that Governor, if he can or will not help, throw the sucker out and get a new one.
Hard hearted I am but if people have a child with a genetic problem, I say give them help, but if those parents go on to have 6 more with the same problem, whose fault or problem is that.
It is up to each and every Governor to see to the wellfare of their people, keep their roads and bridges in shape, see that they can get industry into their state, keep their people working.
The governors are not doing their jobs, when told 2000 refugees want to move into the state that cannot speak English or will be on the welfare rolls, it is up to them to sat NO. Not my state, wait until we have jobs for them then we will discuss this.
Crap, our governor's pull a big salary and perks and have no BALLS.

What brought this on? Didn't he get what he wanted in the last presidential election?
-
Good God. They own the White House, and both houses of Congress, and they STILL want to leave? Go then! I'll stay and fight for my country.
H5 :-)
That should be a bumper sticker.

Little known Canadian law, DUmmies: If you've ever, ever had a DUI, you cannot set foot in Canada, not even to visit.
Hahaha, pining away for socialized medicine at the age of 12. What a loser. At that age, I think I was noticing boys, and pining away over the 8th graders.
All those aging hippies should also know that my Candadian ex FIL has been sitting around with no teeth for 4 weeks now because of waiting lists for replacing them with dentures. Everything goes into the blender and up a straw. How civilized.

Yeah; I was thinking , "Oh hell no, you're not going. Not after foisting the MessiahnFuhrer in Chief and all of his Marxist glories upon the rest of us." when I read this.

Coming out of lurkdom to ask why when the ever-loving diversity DUmmies want to leave this country do they choose the "white", Eurocentric lands? They never want to pack up their bags for any of the "brown" countries they profess to admire and love so much.
I wish they would leave for Europe and I would love to see their reaction when they realize the Muslim hordes are taking over many of the big, tolerant and ever-so-hip, hop and happenin' cities there.

I often wonder if stuff like that is a mole testing the stupidity of the primitives.
Then again they are so stupid as a rule how can you ever tell for sure?
