Here's what we're up against - I was speaking with my doctor's

wife, a casual acquaintance for some years. This is a smart woman. She told me that the health bill (Not bills) included a provision requiring doctors to sit down with their elderly patients to discuss methods to speed their deaths (she didn't use the words mandatory assisted suicide, but that's what she meant.)I asked her where she'd heard it, and she indicated it must be true because she heard it from a former lieutenant governor. I'm guessing she's referring to former Lt.Governor Betsy McCaughey. McCaughey is currently a fellow of the extreme right wing Hudson Institute. According to Wiki, her articles were a major factor in the defeat of the Clinton Health plan. If I read Wiki correctly, she is the original source for the rumor that Obama wants to kill your grandma.

I reminded the doctor's wife of the Karen Ann Quinlan case, and informed her that the only change is to give doctors a code so they can charge for their time spent counseling patients on Living Wills.

Liar.

The bill requires elderly people to meet with their healthcare provider ever five years past a certain age to discuss end of life issues.

It's not about a living will or a billing code you moron.

More like Eugenics.

I think I finally figured out why DUmmies are so for Obamacare. They think they're going to get high, live in a beautiful fog for a few days and then O.D. on some wonderful drugs....it'll be the ultimate high.

The numbers are plummeting of those who want Obamacare.
Does anyone know what's in the bill?? Has anyone read it?? Who knows it's real cost??
Everyone should know not to approve ANYTHING under the gun!!

I think the DUmmies like this idea of forced suicide for the elderly.  They'll get their inheritance that much sooner.

Soon they'll tax inheritances 100%.

The people that have read the bill are shouted down as extremists.  Don't listen to them.

Conservatives have read it.  That's why we're protesting it so hard.  And that's why the Democrat Congress critters are trying so hard to shut us up.

A Health Quiz for Barry
by Mike Adams  (http://townhall.com/columnists/MikeAdams/2009/08/05/a_health_quiz_for_barry)

...

On Page 22, I saw some language, which suggested that the bill mandates audits of all employers that choose to self-insure. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 29, I saw what appeared to be an admission that health care will be rationed under this new plan. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 30, I discovered that a government committee will be established to decide what treatments and benefits I get. However, unlike an insurer, I see no evidence that there will be a process to appeal their decisions. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 50, I read some non-discrimination language, which seems to suggest that all non-US citizens, illegal or not, will be provided with free health care services. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 59, I saw some language suggesting that the federal government will have access to all individual bank accounts for health-related electronic funds transfers. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 124, I learned that no private company can sue the government for price-fixing. Furthermore, no "judicial review" is permitted against a complete government monopoly. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 127, I read that the government will now set wages for physicians. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

On Page 149, couched in esoteric “contribution” language, it looks like any employer with a payroll of $400,000 or more, who does not offer the public option, pays an 8% tax on payroll as a penalty. This penalty would go a long way towards destroying the private system. It would also seem to violate your campaign promises – specifically those you made during debates I watched. If I read this correctly, it appears you looked me – via the camera – in the eye and lied. So, Barry, can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

...

On Page 429 things get very disturbing unless, of course, I am reading this wrong. It appears that an advance care planning consultation will be used to dictate treatment as a patient's health deteriorates. This can include an order for end-of-life plans – specifically, an order from the government. Can you tell me whether that is a) True or b) False?

I'd bet that I have read more of that proposal than the majority of those voting on it.

Wonder what the DUmmies think of Ezekial Emmanuel.  Hippocratic oath is an "unwelcome imperative."

Read pages 410 of the Healthcare bill..........people over the age of 65 are "required" to be counseled every five years on the "physician assisted" option. I guess
former Governor Dick Lamm of Colorado's statement of "old people have the duty to die" will now be part of Obamacare....

If you really want to be pissed, read page 431 where it allows the government to garnish your bank account in order to pay for medical charges the government
decides what you owe.....

Or read page 16, where the government takes your private health insurance away.......

but, we're suppose to go quietly int that good night..... :bird:
