White House: 'War on terrorism' is over
'Jihadists' and 'global war' no longer acceptable terms

It's official. The U.S. is no longer engaged in a "war on terrorism." Neither is it fighting "jihadists" or in a "global war."

President Obama's top homeland security and counterterrorism official took all three terms off the table of acceptable words inside the White House during a speech Thursday at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank.

"The President does not describe this as a 'war on terrorism,'" said John Brennan, head of the White House homeland security office, who outlined a "new way of seeing" the fight against terrorism.

Huh...  I haven't seen anything in the DOD saying so.  Maybe there will be a new email when I get to work today.

Leave it to Liberals to not see the world for what it really is and call things what they really are.

So if "global war on terror" is now banned...what will I call the two medals I wear?

Everybody who matters will know what they are.

Well, I got no memo telling me that all the missions that I prepped today where not for the GWOT, so that's what I'm still calling it.  And I'll be damned if I start calling the two medals I wear the "Global War on Al Qaeda" medals.

He's still fighting a war on terror, except now the enemy is over half this country.

Case in point: (http://ace.mu.nu/archives/290648.php)
Quote
The recent attacks by Republican leaders and their ideological fellow-travelers on the effort to reform the health-care system have been so misleading, so disingenuous, that they could only spring from a cynical effort to gain partisan political advantage. By poisoning the political well, they've given up any pretense of being the loyal opposition. They've become political terrorists, willing to say or do anything to prevent the country from reaching a consensus on one of its most serious domestic problems.
