Is Bush able to issue "blanket" pardons on his way out?
What's the law on this? Can he pardon people in his administration for crimes they may have committed but not been formally accused of (yet)?
IF this IS possible, wouldn't this be a license for any administration to commit crimes knowing that one would never be held accountable?
I think Presidential pardons should only be allowed for crimes one has been CONVICTED of committing.

11. Damn! For a moment there I had hope.
Well if Bush ignores little things like the CONSTITUTION, couldn't we ignore whatever it is that makes pardons sacrosanct?
Wouldn't that make you guys as bad as * then?

12. Nixon was impeached and resigned. Nobody sought to test the "may or may not"; he was gone.
It kept Nixon out of jail, but nobody was looking for him anyway.

14. "He was impeached"
Really? I think not.
Boy, even recent history is up for grabs.

Oh, NOW they have a problem with even the prospect of a president issuing pardons to people who've never been "formally accused" of crimes. Didn't seem to be a problem for them when Bubba Cigarboy did it.

Congress can override pardons? :whatever: :whatever:

In DUmmieland, yes. In the Real World run by the basic knowledge of the U.S. Constitution, no.
