Senate Democratic leaders on Thursday blamed Capitol Hill media for setting an August deadline for health reform and Republicans for blocking the bill's progress.
Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), Democratic Conference Vice Chairman Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Conference Secretary Patty Murray (D-Wash.) also acknowledged that critics will "pour it on" during the coming August recess and they plan to respond in kind.
Reid said reporters created a fictitious deadline of a successful vote by the August recess, and downplayed the fact that the chamber won’t meet that mark.
“That is a deadline that you created,†Reid told a group of about 75 reporters. “It’s not like we don’t have a product. Significant progress has been made … The mere fact that this wasn't done by last Friday or by five o’clock doesn't mean we’re not going to get a quality product."
Sens. Michael Enzi (Wyo.), ranking Republican on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, and Chuck Grassley (Iowa), the ranking Republican on the Finance Committee, took stances Thursday against supporting any healthcare bill before the August recess — a move Reid blamed on Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

I'm pretty sure it was Dear Leader who said that he wanted a bill before congress left, the media just carried his water for him.
How can the unimportant , irrelevant, minority keep a bill from coming out of committee? Once again, it has been the DimRats arguing amongst themselves that has kept this from happening.
Aw Hell, the DimRat leaders live in a fairytale world of lies, is it any wonder that the DUmp Monkees do to?

Democrat congress critters are beginning to see dear leader as a Judas goat... :rotf:

I don't see how anyone can blame the media and do it with a straight face.
ABC ran an infomercial disguised as an inteview about Healthcare...not to mention Dr. Tim Johnson of ABC is a blatant shill...as is Dr. Nancy Snyderman over at NBC.
The only place you really hear about any opposition to the bill is on FOX News and talk radio.
If the MSM does stoop to mention the people speaking out...it's reported as something bad or evil.
So to claim the media messed this up is jsut silly and a lame attempt to deflect their own failure.
And it was Obama that said this would get passed by August or else.

Hi,
Once again it is deflect, deflect, deflect. They wanted it done in a hurry be cause Mr. Daschle pointed out in his book that it had to be done quickly before the public had a chance to mount opposition. Well guess what, when Hillary tried her end run it happened during the recesss. However with the internet etc. the doo-doo started hitting the fan a whole lot earlier. Congress does not get it. The public is a lot smarter than they think and they get the information a lot quicker. The BS they used to spew ain't working no mo.......... at least for most americans according to the polls.

Exactly. You went into much more detail than I will, but to me this means they'll blame the MSM before they'll blame Obama. The MSM is used to pulling their strings, now they know where they really stand.

Poor Democrats - seems the age old adage "If at first you don't succeed, Blame Bush" no longer applies. They need to find a new way to deflect everything.
A. It was Das Obammenfuhrer that wanted action before recess, the media simply reported it.
B. The Republican minority is too small to have any actual effect in the matters of voting. They can block or derail nothing except public opinion by getting an organized message out. Regardless of what the public thinks, the Democrats have enough votes to do as they please.
---They just don't want to deal with the possible consequences if they are wrong. Not having a scapegoat has left them confused and angry. But thats okay, a confused and angry majority is a majority that accomplishes very little.

Yep. It's great.

Once all these elite, do as I say, not as I do, assholes hit the street, the public is going to hand them their ass in their hands! That's why der Fuhrer wanted it done before recess.
The reps and sens who ignore their constituents won't be in office come their next term! Couldn't happen to a better class of nitwits!

But IMHO I think that even the MSM has a limit to how many times they will stand having the Obama bus roll over them before they bite back.

Some will, but most won't as long as 0Bama pushes their agenda. Tingly leg boy Matthews will never bite back. (he might want to nibble 0Bama a little)

Let see, ABC ran a series of infomercials for this universal health care. Man, this made my day better now that the RATS are pissed at the legacy media. Let'em duke it out on each other. :evillaugh: :lmao: :rotf:

Wonder how much of the media is going to continue to enjoy their spoon fed meals before one of them stands up and says they want more meat to their stories. I doubt any but Fox will repot it correctly
