Nader Announces He Will Run for President

WASHINGTON (AP) –Ralph Nader is launching a third-party campaign for president.
The consumer advocate made the announcement Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.†He says most Americans are disenchanted with the Democratic and Republican parties, and that none of the presidential contenders are addressing ways to stem corporate crime and Pentagon waste and promote labor rights.
Nader also ran as a third-party candidate in the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections. He is still loathed by many Democrats who call him a spoiler and claim his candidacy in 2000 cost the party the election by siphoning votes away from Al Gore in a razor-thin contest in Florida.

Nader's going to siphon off some voters who would otherwise vote for Obama. It will happen. And, in some states, that may make the difference.

I want Paul to run as an indie because I want Paul out of the GOP. Him and his have no place among the party of federalism and civil rights.

Ah, it's a big possibility. I don't know if RP is comfy in the title of "also ran". My money is on him running for 3rd party and siphoning some of the McCain vote. Will Nader get some of the Obama vote? Maybe only 1 or 2 percent. Not many will break from "the messiah", but I think if Ru Paul runs (which is not entirely doubtful), it'll split the GOP vote up quite a bit more.

I think Ru Paul will pull fewer McCain votes than Nader will pull from the Liberal Left. Both groups are nut cases but since liberalism is a mental disorder more will "vote their conscience" than the generally more pragmatic conservatives.

In 2004 Nader got 465,650 votes. I think we can easily get this many people to join a facebook group in 2008 opposing him. If this does not get him to reconsider his decision to run for President, it will certainly make him the joke that he is.
Please join the facebook group One Million Strong Against Ralph Nader(you will have to login to join) and recommend this post so that as many people as possible tell Nader what America really thinks of him.
In 2000, George W. Bush was elected by Ralph Nader and five conservative supreme court justices, all of whom thought their opinion meant more than that of the American people. In 2004, the Green Party refused to nominate Nader again because they recognized that George W. Bush was ruining our country. Nader ran anyway, funded by Republicans who liked the way in which Bush was destroying our country and wanted 4 more years of death and destruction. Nader was more than willing to help them divide and conquer.
After 8 years of George W. Bush's failed policies, we as a nation recognize the need for a progressive Democrat to unite the country, repair the damage, and bring about fundamental change.
Ralph Nader is a road block to such progress, and the progressive coalition which will unite behind the Democratic nominee for President.
Join One Million Strong Against Ralph Nader and tell him what America really thinks of his inflated ego.

I doubt it--Ronulans are mostlly party-jumpers and guys who would likely not have voted GOP anyway. At least they sure as hell were in NH.
