Will Pitt can say it's been so since DU's beginning...
but I sure don't recall so many gun nuts on DU until this past year. What is up with people loving their guns so much?
The only thing they can rightfully claim is it's fun to shoot them and maybe just maybe it will prevent a home invasion.
There's no way having a pea shooter is going to give you a well regulated militia to fight the government tyranny when they have fighters, bombers, bunker busters, etc. so that whole line of argument is bull.
Cute little logicians have been arguing similarity to deaths by water or automobiles or smoking.
BUt I don't know of anyone who can off about 30 people in 10 minutes with a car. It's hard to conceal a car. And I have yet to hear of someone dying by a stray car fired from 100 yards away.
I hunted when I was a kid. I target practiced. I can see why people enjoy guns. But to love them so much that you willingly abet the death industry like you do? And on DU??? Crazy shit.
The only things DUmmy PretzelWarrior hunted as a kid were doobies.

1. How about 8 dead, 15 critically injured, and 30 seriously injured in less than THIRTY SECONDS?
Car driven by man, 86, kills eight at street market

2. And pulling statistics and "studies" out of their a**es...
...there's no reasoning with them...it's just NRA propoganda about the second amendment and any discussion of sensible gun control to reduce violence and they think Armageddon has arrived.
The NRA, and the United States Constitution, and the United States Supreme Court.

4. I like winning elections more than losing them
And I'm talking about winning in places like Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Kansas and Idaho.
In short, it's about getting those pooh-bellied white guys at NASCAR races voting Democratic. That does not happen with gun control.
Right, the problem is gun control, and every other plank in the homo party platform.

5. What a lovely false premise you have there.
"Willingly abet the death industry"? Yes, because exercising one's rights in a free country is EXACTLY like murdering people.

10. Will Pitt lost my respect with his self-serving "tribute" to Kephra
How Kephra was so great because he wasn't "awed" by Will Pitt.
Some egos need to get stashed. There are plenty more pundits in the ocean.
Way to go, DUmmy Tab!!

34. i think it may be a rural vs urban thing.
people in urban areas that have high handgun violence are often interested in gun control, for people in low crime rural areas, the whole idea seems ridiculous because you don't have people smoking each other left and right.
i could sentimentally agree with gun control in urban areas, but really, the gangsta getting a piece is going to be doing so from the black market, maybe with serial numbers filed off, so passing any type of law is moot.
i own an M-1 but i don't own any bullets, but at least if an intruder came in i could bludgeon the bastid with it
To paraphrase DUmmy dionysius, "Come on over and take my stuff."

50. I think you have that backwards.
Urban people aren't scared of the city (or we wouldn't live here). We're scared of the rural wackos who form militias and stockpile weapons. Gangsters mostly shoot each other.

Oh my.
That's a mighty erratic bonfire, even for the primitives.

Its not about preventing a homeinvasion its about finishing a home invader

Democrats don't like guns ?
I'd suggest paying a visit to any major east or west coast city. One can find lots of gun-loving democrats in those.
