Just want to introduce myself right quick and I'll be out of your hair.
I was raised by misguided Democrats and, of course, became a misguided Democrat myself. This was back when I trusted network news and CNN and basically all the rest of the mainstream media, including movies and TV shows. As we all know, Democrats are always the good guys according to Hollywood.
It didn't take very long in the real world for me to start seeing holes in the Democrat philosophy. One stark moment I remember was when I visited the Social Security office for the first time. I had just married my lovely wife. Being a traditional conservative woman (praise the Lord!), she took my last name and had to get a new SS card. Waiting in that room was a real eye-opener for me. As far as I knew, every able-bodied man would could work for a living did work for a living. Ah, how naive I was. During that hour-long wait, I watched in amazement as every low-life piece of scum in the room begged and pleaded for disability for things such as being overweight, being an alcoholic, and having "stress." I was astounded.
After that, I investigated the more hard-core elements of the liberal Democrat philosophy. I slowly began to realize a fundamental truth I had somehow avoided seeing all these years: Liberals are on the wrong side of everything. With capital punishment, we've got convicted killers vs. innocent victims. Liberals side with the killers. How about terrorists vs. the U.S. military? Liberals side with the terrorists. And of course, when it comes to people who work for a living vs. bums who leech off government handouts, liberals scorn the former as greedy capitalists and pen fawning narratives praising the latter.
Bottom line: If there is a choice between purity and impurity, liberals invariably choose impurity. As an adult, I've also come to realize that while liberals can barely contain their hatred for our country, conservatives can barely contain their love for the United States. Liberals find the American flag offensive--a gross display of uncouth nationalism, while conservatives love and cherish that same flag, and fly it and wear it with pride.
I just want to say I feel much better about myself now that I've opened my eyes. Sorry for going on for so long.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm enjoying myself already. :usflag:

Oh, so you met some of the primitives from Skins's island, at the social security office.
Welcome, sir.

Happy to have you here!

Well stated. To paraphrase Churchill, to be young and not to be liberal is to have no heart. To be grown up and to be liberal is to have no brain.
-
I guess I've never had a heart then.
That's OK, having one is way overrated.
I went through a very brief "liberal" period when I was in HS. Then I started to get a paycheck and that cured me. As it will many in the DUmpster and TNO when they start working for a living.
