WHAT'S the rush?
It's a question a lot of Americans have been asking themselves of late as President Obama presses for swift passage of a health-care reform bill that will result in government control of one-sixth of our economy.
According to the latest polls, the whole wind-up in Washington has left about half of the American population feeling more than a wee bit queasy about the endgame here.
It may also be triggering a disquieting sense of deja vu among voters -- a period reminiscent of a time less than seven years ago when President Bush and his neo-con advisers were being assailed by the left for what they called "a rush to war in Iraq."
Back then, as we're often reminded by the Bush-bashers, the then-president was a forceful advocate for an Iraqi invasion, arguing that Saddam Hussein and his cache of weapons of mass destruction posed an imminent danger to US national security.

Yeah, but the Iraq war hasn't killed a fraction of what Obamacare will kill.

Poor journalism, and a very bad analogy....apples and oranges.
There was a two-year "rush" to war in Iraq, which as I recall involved multiple UN resolutions, and at least one act of congress. Not to mention the public mood over two missing buildings in lower Manhattan.......
Obamacare is being attwmpted in a few short weeks.......the motive being to get it in place before the voters wake up, and throw the Dems out of office in large numbers.........the closer the vote on the HC bill gets to the beginning of the congressional campaign season, the lower its chances of passing.....and the messiah knows it.......
The first case was (rightly or wrongly judged by history) clearly in our national security interests.....the second case is pure socialist politics......
Wrong in so many ways........
