The Bible is the literal word of God!!! No question.

If you believe the subject line, please read this:
Proverbs 3:3: "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart."
Then get thee to a heart surgeon. . . . Or you can try to do it yourself. Heck, you're smart enough.
(Added, after 15 replies: heavy dose of scarasm. The point is the Bible is NOT taken literally by those who claim to do so. But if they would start, we might be no longer bothered by them. Hmmm.)

10. The point is that this means to ACTUALLY write on a portion of the heart.
Literal means literal.

15. Point is you cannot read it literally. Not correctly so.
The guy picks a verse out of Proverbs and expects Bible literalists to take it hyper-literally instead of literally as poetic language. Oy.

How can people with such little understanding of the Scriptures even pretend to tell the rest of us what they say?
-
When DUmmies stop shouting about the handfull of verses where Jesus is referencing the poor while mocking the other 99% of the Bible I will start to care about their thoughts on the Word.

They don't even get those right. Jesus said for us the individual to help the poor not for the govt to do it.

Well, we know God drove a Plymouth because the Bible say God drove Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden in a Fury.

Hell, it isn't even the Bible. They fail to understand the people they presume to criticize.
Even the most rabid literalist movement--with whom I personally would hold numerous objections towards--understands the concept of figures of speech and are able to recognize and accept them within the Bible.

What impresses me is the number of people they got into an Accord. :o
:whatever:

As someone who "argues" against the idea that the literal word of the bible is true, I will say these people fail stupendously in making their argument. :loser:

Having a DUmmy explain the Bible is like getting Britney Spears to explain Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle.

Britney would say, "No, I'm certain my principal's name was Jones." (Or whatever.)
