Title: Yes, she IS that stupid...
Post by: NHSparky on July 25, 2009, 09:24:17 AM
Sadly, this brain-dead is my Congresscritter.  Needless to say, she'll be getting an earful from me and many others if/when she has the 'nads to show her face in public amongst the "little people"...

Couple of problems with her statement.  She's a former social worker from Rochester.  Yes, Rochester (aka, "Rottenchester" to those outside it) is more working-class than other places.  It's not as "elite" (read: snobbish) as Portsmouth or Dover.  It's more working-class.

Despite all this, NH household income is among the highest in the US.  We have the lowest poverty rate in the US.  Our unemployment rate, although rising like everyone else's lately, is still 3 points below the national average.  Can we do better?  Sure.  But lack of health care?  Try again, Carol.  It's lack of health INSURANCE.  Some people don't get it for a myriad of reasons, Carol.  But to say you'll be "pulled out of line"?  Not here--maybe in Canada or Great Britian, but not here.

She's as good as gone in 2010.

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to picket her local office with signs that say "I'd love to wait in line to vote out my rep, but not to see my doctor"

Oh, if your lips aren't permanently tattooed to her ass, she doesn't want to hear from you.  Say what you want about Jeb Bradley, but at least he faced his detractors.  I've written her several times and gotten form letters written by her 19-year old dipshit interns.  The one time I saw her in person, you could have asked her what color the sky was and the only answer you would get was, "Let me check with my staff on that..."

My rep is a blue dog Dem and getting a lot of pressure from the local Dem party to "support Obama or else we won't support you in 2010".  Fortunately, he does represent his constituents' wishes, not the kool aid party's.  I sent him a letter of thanks and a small donation for his war chest.  It's important we encourage our reps when they do good too! Country before Party !   :cheersmate:

If Congress manages to get home without a vote before the recess...by the time they come back...IMHO we'll be hearing about even more Dems who will vote no...because they've heard an earful from the folks back home.

Which is why the White House is pushing for them to stay and vote before they go home.

Even though Rahm Emanuel is trying to get a vote this week, I tend to think that they're going to get more and more complaints from their constituents.  Some of the Blue Dogs have been saying, "We're trying to save the party."  Even if they do succeed in getting the vote put off, they may yet fail in saving the party, as the Obamination may think they've got this mandate for "hope and change."  Which the voters will make them pay for, come November 6th, 2010.

CHE-Porter will have some 'splainin to do when an if she shows her face again.  The PorchMouth Herald is all over her getting veteran's care established in Concord but seems to ignore the larger issue of health care.

Recently on another thread I linked (http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,31336.0.html) to a section of the current bill which is going to cause Carol the compassionate some real grief among her more loyal constituents.  Sadly this issue is not getting more visibility on the local scene.  Think  of 'group homes', like
Betty's Dream in Portsmouth,  which may find themselves shut off from funding they once received.  Then there are also many who foster severely disabled persons ( who are listed in the latest bill as retarded (http://www.nypost.com/seven/07262009/news/nationalnews/retarded_house_bill_181448.htm)) as a means of making a few extra bucks.  (Sort of a work from home job.)

Othena was just one {of many} whom I always assumed had a life membership with Magaret Sanger Briggade, NH Democrat Party.  It is inner conflict which turns those type people into loons.

We now have Rahm's brother advising on health care, he, another "We have to kill the patient to save the system" type from what I am reading.

Sorry Sparky, I was called for dinner, post-us-interrupt-us if you will.

My thought was headed along the line that these people of compassion are now being forced into untenable position by their heroes.  Carol-Che Porter will bend to the will of Nasty Nancy marching headlong into the sea (or off the cliff if you like that analogy better); but, the folks back home will find out that granny and grandpaw along with Special Ed and Edwina are being kicked to the curb in favor of younger, healthier cubs.

Even the dullest of the dolts will figure things out but in many cases it will be too late.

Then of course there is this scary guy:

zeit--damn, and I apparently missed my chance to give her my mind yesterday.  Seems she was in town this weekend.  If you know Rochester, then you know Fat Tony's downtown and the Draught Pick Pub behind it.  Seems while I was enjoying my frosty beverage of choice in my "Mug Club" glass, the bartender made mention of the fact Che had dined there that very afternoon for lunch.

Damn, just damn, thinks I.  Never get to have any fun.  Then again, ask her a question more difficult than the color of the sky and you'll get a, "Let me check with my staff on that," reply.

Here's hoping we see a LOT more of her back here in January 2011.

My favorite spot in Rochester is the bar/restraunt right there by the falls that gives you a great view of the Genessee Brewing plant and the fireworks/lightshow they do every friday and saturday.

Right town.  Wrong state.

Speaking of confusion of state or perhaps more correctly put, state of confusion, I was actually an invited participant in Mean Jeanne Shaheen's Town Hall Phone Booth Meeting. Sat on the patio with a conference phone and a glass of Merlot which made the whole thing more palatable.  Jeanne kept sloughing off to teh Wun's hack for answers as she 'dashed out to vote' (She was in DC).  Ironic that I use to tell people the entire Republican party of P_town (north) could meet in the phone booth by the old library. :rotf:

The original Milk Carton pol decides to show

posted at 11:00 am on August 22, 2009 by Ed Morrissey

Not the first to go on the milk carton but the first to bail on her constituents — and it looks like she’ll have company.  Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, whose decision to duck town-hall forums surprised New Hampshire constituents who remember her pre-election town-hall antics, has decided to grace voters with her presence after all.  However, she’s managed to schedule it at a time next Saturday when activists had planned to be elsewhere:

Multiple sources, including James Pindell at NHPoliticalReport.com, are telling GraniteGrok that our Congresswoman Carol Shea Porter has finally set up some town hall meetings where she will actually meet with real live constituents face to face.

And wouldn’t you know it– RIGHT AT THE SAME TIME THE GRASS ROOTS COMMUNITY OF NH IS SCHEDULED TO GATHER AT A FUNDRAISER/PICNIC FOR THE NEW HAMPSHIRE ADVANTAGE COALITION!

The event is scheduled to run from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. with the doors opening at 1 p.m. for security checks. An estimated 100 people will be able to fit into the room at the Thomas J. McIntyre Federal Building where the meeting will be held. An aide said that attendence will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Any bets as to whether or not she gives "first come" preferences to her supporters?

Third time is a charm they say.  This will be the third time I have tried to get this post up.

Sparky:

I can speculate on several reasons why Che Porter went with the Federal Building:

1. I believe you can sneak in and out through the basement parking garage.

2. I suspect they have metal detectors available.

3. Rabble rouser's like CEO will not have to stagger far from their favorite watering hole, The Daniel Street Tavern.

4. Right Wing Disrupter's can probably be subjected to 'enhanced Federal crimes'.

Kinda hypocritical that the woman who's thought nothing of disrupting townhall meetings by W and one of her rivals...not only has someone trying to ask a legitimate question escorted from her presence by the cops...but now believes that these kind of meetings aren't useful.

The piling on continues:

LINK (http://www.nowhampshire.com/2009/08/30/shea-porter-instructs-security-to-remove-a-former-peace-officer-from-town-hall/)

In four short years Carol Shea-Porter has evolved from a rabble-rousing, town hall disrupting anti-war activist who once had to be forcibly removed from a President George Bush event in Portsmouth to a Member of Congress who instructed armed security guards to remove a frustrated voter from her own town hall event in Manchester on Saturday.

In the appended video, Shea-Porter can be seen instructing security to remove a man for standing to ask a question without a ticket. Shea-Porter previously held a lottery to determine who could ask questions. She can also be heard taunting the man on his way out by saying, “I do hope the movie theater can be a little quieter for you.”

NowHampshire.com has learned that the gentlemen Shea-Porter removed, Carl Tomanelli from Londonderry, is a retired New York City patrolman.

Among the press and the public, Shea-Porter’s abrasiveness, once a hallmark of her putative independence, is now seen as boorish out-of-touchness.

“Why does this have to be so hard,” asks reporter James Pindell of NHPoliticalReport.com.

“She has been getting such a pounding over not holding town hall meetings this week that it is beginning to get weird, especially because she is in the district,” Pindell writes.

In recent weeks, Shea-Porter has become, in the words of one Democratic operative who asked to remain anonymous, “unhinged.”

One of the reasons I was disappointed when seacoastconnects disconnected was because of the vast amount of information on Carol Che Porter.  Rowland did yeoman's work IIRC.  (I secretly suspected Othena had a 'girl crush' on Carol, disgusting as the thought may be).  Side note:The Herald had lots of dead to bury in addition to not having a clue how to run a board so it was no surprise to see the ultimate collapse without notice or recourse to archives.  Of course that is one of the dangers of posting on these type boards, any day you can go to reference a previous post and come up 404'd.

For me it is stress or early Old Timers.

Anyone have a Grandma that went through the list of grandkids until she got to You ?Anyone have a family member that under stress called you by a siblings name?

To this day my mom calls me by my daughters name or vice virsa, for years my daughters have gotten upset if I called them by their sisters name.

Was it Einstein who said he never memorised what he could look up-----saving brain space for other stuff.

The only time outside of remembering passwords that this can become a problem would be -----ever have this happen to you---calling out the wrong name when having sex.

No poblelm sweetie.  Sounds like it's time to drop that longterm realionship with Old Grandad

and wander across the street to catch up with Signature Computer.  Just bat them lashes at Mike an the boys an tell 'em what it you need.  I am sure they would assist a woman in need.

Also, you might try using a text file to store site and password information.  Just don't name the file password.txt :hammer:  That way you can just cut and paste the info, or just use a notebook.  I actually have some obscure sites in my hard copy address book ( yes, I still keep a 'little black book').    :-)

Also, you might try using a text file to store site and password information.  Just don't name the file password.txt :hammer:  That way you can just cut and paste the info, or just use a notebook.  I actually have some obscure sites in my hard copy address book ( yes, I still keep a 'little black book').    :-)

Thanks for the flash from the past. I have not seen that bottle in 45 years---

Unfortunately with the medication we old timers are given today I would not dare mix anything with Bourbon or any of that straight stuff. This is the reason I believe so many people over 50 years old with health problems tell me they have that little plant in the window.

I had one of those little black books 15 years ago and it went missing.  What a mess, I had to cancel my credit cards and start out from scratch with changing 50 pass words and try to remember what pass word went with what site.

Anyway, it's been almost four days--granted, two were on weekend, but I'm curious as to whether or not I'll get a form letter to this:

Dear Congresswoman Shea-Porter,

It has come to my attention that you and other House Democrats are considering a censure motion against Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) for his remarks against the President Wednesday night. While I agree his comments were in poor taste and below the level one would expect of the decorum of Congress, you might want to remove the log from your eye before pointing out the splinter in the eye of another.

Given your past history, I find it the height of hypocrisy for you, of all people, to demand an apology for heckling an elected official or disrupting a meeting or speech. Have you so quickly forgotten why you were removed from a Bush rally in Portsmouth on February 16, 2006? Or the numerous times you hounded Jeb Bradley, your predecessor? At least he wasn’t afraid to face his constituents AND his critics. And when someone asks you a question to which you haven’t given “permission” for them to ask, as in the case of Carl Tomanelli recently, you have them thrown out with the snarky comment, “I do hope the movie theater can be a little quieter for you.” Really? What happened to representing ALL your constituents? Your incredible arrogance is appalling.

Over the past three years, it has become increasingly apparent that you, Congresswoman, are a hypocrite—perfectly willing to dish it out, but completely unable to take it when it starts (rightly) coming back your way. Consider this before you point any fingers at Congressman Wilson.

For the record, keep your hands off my healthcare, if you please. No public option is the only option. The bill you are pushing is too vague, too expensive, and too intrusive.

So, in closing, if anyone is going to issue an apology, might I suggest you issue one first?

Sincerely,

XXXXX XXXXXXXX

You'll get a note saying that they respect your opinions, but they are going to keep on keeping on, no matter what YOU say. They will use weseal words, but she will say "screw you, I won", just like Barry does.

You need to see she can't say that post next election.

I am guessing you will be real lonely if ya wait for the postman.  Che Porter has no need to answer you as she knows your 'donation history' don't ya know. She is way sharper than Othena don't ya know, besides, Othena probably sent it to her too!!

There have been a couple good LTE's in the Herald recently.  In one Mark Brighton calls her Carol Shea Porter Pelosi, or SPP.  Me, I still like Che-Porter, darn if I remember who coined that one but it certainly fits that Marxist witch.

BTW
Vesta....you wouldn't mean a little planted pot on that window sill now would you?  Tsk Tsk, that would be illegal. ( not to mention a rationalization of illegal behavior )

Either that or a visit from an investigator from the local troop of the State Police.

That sounds more like her style of response.

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winnah!!  That is exactly like the thug-o-crats in Spark's part of the state.  For proof you only need to check out their treatment of former presidential contender Bob Kerrey (you can read more about it here) (http://www.jewishworldreview.com/cols/simon020300.asp) but suffice to say these are the folk in Sparky's back yard.  They are also part of the Shaheen outfit who would knife ya in the back in a heart beat.

Mean Jean graced us with her presence at the unveiling of the Flight 93 memorial at the Capitol last Wed. *blech*

I want to say for sure who did, (GWLS?) but it's really not important as it certainly fits her demeanor.

Damn memory holes!

Actually, that did happen earlier this year when someone sent some loose tea to her Manchester office.

Loose tea, clearly labeled as such on the envelope.  I'm surprised her staffers didn't try to smoke it first.

She voted "present".  Isn't that precious?  Doesn't even have the stones to take a stand.

I'm gonna love the e-mail I get back from this one--assuming I get one back.

:rotf: :rotf:   Not YET but I keep my options open as Father Time catches up with me.

Did you by any chance see the adds on TV where some poor old lady comes on, looks in the camera and exclaims, I Smoke Pot.?  You just know that out there are some grandchildren that cover their ears when the ad is shown.

I do wish to thank you that have gotten me interested in State Politics.  Now if we could rile up a few thousand  senior citizens and head out to storm the Capital I bet few papers would bother to cover the story unless everyone was arrested.  Heck, why should the Libs have all the fun.?

Wow, she can't even bullshit very well anymore:

September 21, 2009

Dear Mr. XXXXXXXX:

Thank you for contacting my office and sharing your thoughts with me regarding Congressman Joe Wilson's comments during President Obama's speech to Congress.

I appreciate your concerns. On September 15, 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.Res. 744 which stated the Representatives disapprove of the behavior of the Representative from South Carolina, Mr. Wilson, during the joint session of Congress held on September 9, 2009. I voted present because Congressman Wilson apologized to President Obama and it is time we move on and focus on more pressing issues.

Thank you again for contacting my office. It is a privilege to serve you in Washington.

Sincerely,
Carol Shea-Porter

Member of Congress

Form letter.

Pretty much--IOW, if your nose isn't as far up her ass as her nose is up Pelosi's ass, she doesn't want to hear from you.
